No. The buyer is pulling the old birthday card. I have clients try this with me in person. It’s quite annoying really. If I know you on a personal level outside of business, sure, I’ll give you something for your birthday but that goes without saying. Asking for a birthday gift from a stranger is pretty tasteless in my opinion but I guess from their point of view it’s worth a shot. You should tell them since it’s their birthday they should have some extra birthday money. Ha!
I can’t understand the blocking mentality unless the person does something totally horrible. They are a potential customer. You counter with what you want for it and hopefully he accepts. No need in creating a block list bigger than your customer base.
