Price Estimate on Pokemon TCG Sets?

Hi everyone!!

So, I’ve been collecting Pokemon TCG sets for years, and I LOVE this hobby so much. I’ve also had some recent life updates/events (good ones, don’t worry!) and I’ve been pondering what a reasonable value might be for these sets, should I need to sell them in preparation for these life changes. :blush: I was hoping to get the community’s input on what the current approximate value would be for each complete set, or even a rough estimate of all sets combined, any amount of input would be really helpful to understand where to start in terms of possibly selling them in the near or far future! Base Set - First Edition - Would appreciate price estimate for complete set

  • Complete 102/102

  • Most Holos are Excellent, some are Near Mint/Mint. First Edition Hitmonchan (7/102) is Light Play and First Edition Charizard (4/102) is around a PSA 6/7 (EX-NM)

Couldn’t spend a lot of time on this but maybe a number like 10-14,000.00 I’d pay. My biggest problem was almost nothing was labeled as mint and 8 quality or less just doesn’t bring very much for 90% of those.

Op, I think it’s rather easy valuing most of the sets. Maybe some of the guys here can help with ones that don’t come to market too often.

might be an unpopular opinion, but i think you’d make more selling the 1st eds separately than as a set and I dont think any 1st ed would take long to sell, even the commons. Would you be selling on ebay or pwcc or what? Also would you give us a heads up? :tada:

I would personally split the holos and non holos. He said they’re mint so he can get good money if they’re grade worthy with a few solid 10 candidates.

Obviously, he should be grading the Zard and the NM holos but if he’s not going that route he can earn good $ selling the holo set. He can also ask a small premium, so I don’t see the reason to be selling singles.

Yep, I’d grade anything minty and sell as singles. The main reason being that you wont have a bunch of collectors giving “bulk” sale offers when ALL the cards are desirable.

That’s a lot of work to ask of people, if the cards are NM and you want a super rough estimate for raw sets you could go to pokemonprice.com/Analytics, select the set and just go off the PSA 8 value. Otherwise you’re going to have to do a lot of raw card price research which is a tedious pain and probably why nobody here wants to do it for you.
