Help me PSA these cards!

Hi @smpratte and everyone else
I need these 3 cards PSA graded so I can send them in later.

  1. Shining Genesect. It had a very small imprint (circled) almost like a dent, 1/100th mm deep and not any different-feeling on the surface. It is not visible unless seen in the right light. A close-up is provided. On the bottom left corner on the back are tiny nail indentations from bad handling, hardly noticeable unless tilted into the right light.

  2. Volkner Full Art. I think this is a PSA 10! [Those are hairs not scratches, LOL]

  3. Charizard-GX SM60 Full Art Promo. A bit of edge-whitening on the corners. (circled)

What do you mean? You want us to help evaluate the possible grades you’d get?

  1. It’s already very hard to grade from photos because there’s no way to see everything from even the best quality photos.

  2. Your photos are tiny.

Hopefully, I can’t be the only one who can hear him say S M PRATTE from reading that text!

@pokellectorgx: If you want specific opinions from someone, especially with grading/something that would take their time, I would suggest you to message them privately instead of calling them out on public forums especially Scott, who typically has a lot of stuff to do … If everyone asks Scott for grading advice he won’t have time for anything else

  1. Unless you get lucky by a careless grader, I believe this will drop the grade down at least from a 10 to something lower, making it not as good as an idea to grade this card. This card can literally be bought on ebay for 20$ at PSA 9, and depending on what service you have with PSA, grading a card is at least 10$+ all the other associated costs that come with getting the card graded. This makes it better to just buy the card graded outright.

2 + 3. No one can give you any opinions on those cards since the resolution is really small.

I can only offer the PFM grading service, but some say it is far superior to PSA’s opinion.

I heard it… lol

Why PSA a damaged $8 Shining Genesect when you can easily buy/find a better candidate?

Higher quality pics! I want an estimate before sending them in

Im wondering how much the grade would be detracted with a dent like that (for Genesect)

psa 4-5 quality

Im assuming the Genesect. Gee, I hope Volkner & Charizard are in good condition!

Looking at the picture, the back of the volkner looks weird. But you can’t be sure on the grade of the card unless you send it in! If you’ve never submitted through PSA, I recommend using smpratte’s service

Looks weird, as in damage that would retract the grade? Or just centering?

Just buy cards already graded until you learn to gauge condition.

What does that mean lol.
I just want estimates on these cards conditions so I know what to expect when i send them in

The reason I made this post was to see if these would grade high enough to see if its worth sending them in! Meaning I want a rough estimate of what it could be in terms of grade.

I think the Genesect could be anywhere from a PSA 9 to a 6 depending on whether or not they notice that indent(They grade stuff like that pretty harshly)

The Charizard looks like a strong 9 with a shot at a 10 to me

The Volkner has pretty rough centering on the back and what looks like some heavy scuffing on the top? Won’t get higher than a 9 due to centering, and could be quite a bit lower depending on what that is at the top.

I’m no expert and it’s impossible to see everything via photos, but that’s my 2 cents anyways! Good luck!

Hey! Thanks for your 2 cents!
That’s actually not scuffing at all. That’s some sort of dirt that was on the sleeve. xD

Hey! Thanks for your 2 cents!
That’s actually not scuffing at all. That’s some sort of dirt that was on the sleeve. I know, it had me worried for a little bit as well too!

The centering is probably at least 65/35, and PSA states that the reverse must have centering of 75/25 to be Gem Mint 10. You can see some visuals here.forums.collectors.com/discussion/897961/a-guide-to-centering

The right side of the back of Volkner literally looks like someone took a pair of scissors to it.
