Portuguese Pokemon Day Exclusive

Hey guys, stumbled across this via Facebook.

Kind of neat following some of the Pokemon events and promotions as Pokemon makes its way through for celebration in other countries. It seems that in celebration of Pokemon Day this year Copag is sending 55 copies of the Portuguese XY95 to each store that is a part of their organized play locations listed here and the first 55 participants at each location will get a copy of the card.

If anyone is in/near a location on the list or knows someone with access please let me know as I’m definitely looking to get one!

Awesome find, lets hope you can get a friend from Portugal, maybe one of the members would be kind enough to get you one with a little ‘paper persuasion’, I have found that the admins for European Pokemon groups are very helpful. I guess the only barrier would be language/finding someone who can speak English

I actually know someone in Brazil that could help me but he doesn’t ship international so I’d still have to find a third (fourth?) party to finish the sale… -sigh-

I may have to contact him depending on if I am able to find someone else.

Could this be something we put in the Rare card articles? I feel like for the Promo cards, especially continent/country specific promotions, there should be articles of their existence. Bulbapedia and Pokebeach do a great enough job at covering resources, but things like this can easily slip out of collectors’ awareness.

It’s something that would really need it’s own article and things like it to augment the piece. In the mean time, when Justin contacted me about it, I told him to make a thread so there was some record.

It’s worth noting that (unless I’m wrong, as I don’t speak/read/write Portuguese) these are, as far as I know, being handed out at participating organized play locations in Brazil for those participating in the competitions. I don’t think they’re being handed out just as a promotion for anyone that comes by (I could be reading the tweet wrong @fourthstartcg - but if not I’d say it’s worth maybe correcting to state it’s for competitors).

Do you speak/read/write Portuguese? Or just gathering that from what you know / could translate otherwise? I’ve done 4 years of Spanish so I can get a little bit of the gist of some Portuguese, but not enough to properly ascertain specifics sometimes. Google Translate is one of my best friends, as a global collector.

I am fluent in Spanish, so it helps me translate certain Portuguese phrases. I am mostly limited to that though, unfortunately :slightly_frowning_face:

My secret talent is knowing to speak Portuguese so if anyone needs help I’m here :blush: I have lots of friends in Brazil but unfortunately I think none of them are able to help me and get my hands into a promo unfortunately D:
