PokeRev Box Opening Videos

Have not seen anything posted here and I know PokeRev is pretty well known, but I thought I would throw out a flyer because he has been doing some really nice box breaks live. Last week he opened a 1st ed neo rev box and pulled BOTH shining cards and yesterday he did a base set box.

I personally really love watching these, which is why I make my own videos too, but it’s cool to see such HUGE openings that we do not get very often anymore. I feel like between him and TCA we are seeing more now than we did in the past 5 years!

Anyway, happy openings and may the pulls always be in your favor!

What does that mean?

His inventory is truly one of a kind… He really brings the Community together during the box breaks, reliving those pack unwrapping moments from long ago haha

He is literally doing a live stream twice a week where he opens sealed booster boxes. Some of them, like the ones above, are vintage WOTC and rarely seen anymore. He can afford to do it because his packs are presold, then opened for his customers live. It’s a pretty smart way to deliver on content and still make money off the packs. If you don’t care about who opens the pack, then it’s a win for the buyer as well.

I get what you’re saying, but it’s still a weird way to put it. Anyone A man could open a set of Base Set stark naked and we’d all still watch.

He’s basically the Dan Bilzerian of Pokémon sealed.

Smart biz model making money off packs, YouTube ads, live stream donations, and affiliate links - and twice a week… he’s crushing it.

Quadruple dipping! He’s making well above the “list price” for every box he breaks. Every livestream he easily gets several hundred dollars in “super chats”. Also the WOTC boxes he posts on his website sell out all 36 packs within an hour of them going up.

This “Deke” guy bought 12 packs last night (at $150 apiece) and pulled one PSA 9 worthy Raichu holo, the rest were all non-holos.

Hey Z, why don’t you join the party and start doing box breaks too? With your fan base, I’m sure you’ll be crushing it too:)

I actually tried the idea like 9 months ago…got a few interested but not enough. Honestly he’s a marketing genius and I just don’t have that reach/charisma/marketing brain to be able to get that pool of people to do it consistently.

Plus I’m terrible at opening packs ha. I don’t get excited enough. I mean…not Rusty level of un-enthusiasm (love ya TCA), but close.

Lmao, Rusty level of un-enthusiasm, I still remember how calm Rusty was when he opened the 1st edition base set box 2 years ago and pulled the big 3.

The timestamp of Rusty pulling a charizard. Rusty would be a great golf commentator!

I enjoy Poke Rev’s content but I do get a little annoyed with the Youtubers whose only banter during vids is just telling me to like and subscribe. We all know thats what you do to support Youtube at this point. But it’s a cool format for people to buy packs and take a chance at getting a holo from an unweighed pack. Unweighed + the entertainment + community combo I think is what makes his channel popular + good lighting lol.

Would love if maxmoefoe did some live streams lol
@smpratte, do you have Rudy’s number? Could he be convinced to do a live stream pokemon box break?

Agreed! I heard you the first time, you don’t have to keep repeating it every 5 mins during the stream. No one outside the uploader cares if you get to 10k likes or whatever. It’s obvious they want to get to a certain amount of “Likes” or “Viewers” count to hit the next Youtube income multiplier. But for goodness sakes, maybe just once a video would be enough. Otherwise it really detracts from the quality and content of the video.

Okay Im glad someone else feels this way. haha I didnt want to come across as being negative.
but I mean… come on’ if maxmoefoe can have 1mil+ subscribers and literally only does a like 10 second pitch/plug for merch at the VERY END of each video… others can do it and still be successful.

ok done venting

much love to PokeRev and the community at the end of the day though!

I honestly love the excitement that Rusty has when he has a good pull. He gets excited about a lot of nice pulls. He is a bit monotone, but it could be way worse.

Edit: Okay I rewatched that particular pull and it was pretty bad lmao… He’s been better though for sure. Sorry Rusty…

It’s not necessarily bad imo, it’s very unique in the current environment where some youtubers get “overly” excited about some not so exciting cards:)

I swear some of the youtubers reactions when pulling cards is solely aimed at 8-13 year olds! And so over the top there’s no way it’s genuine. You pulled an $8 non-holo Jungle rare…OK?

That’s most box opening channels. Majority of youtube is based on kid viewership. That is why people do the cringe stuff because it’s for kids. Not my thing personally, but I’m not the target audience.
