At the annual San Diego Comic Con, Pokemon isn’t something that’s usually heavily featured. This year I decided to focus on seeing what they had and if they had any cool cards I could pick up. Ended up having a great time and more success than I thought.
Looks to be to scale builds of Squirtle evolution line using Mega Construx.

Nice detail up close:
Comic Con exclusive Gengar figure they were selling for $40. The eyes light up too.
This was actually a really impressive looking play set (you can see that Gengar in the upper left).
A sign on the convention floor. There were also a few up in the Nintendo Lounge of the new Evee/Pickachu game for the Switch.

Hey - it’s PokeNastic with Jerry “the King” Lawler. Right on!

Stopped by the PSA booth. They had the Mitsuhiro Arita autograph cards they were giving away on display. Hope I win (fingers crossed)! It was awesome seeing them in person. I kept getting a glare so I took pics of the cards individually instead of the frame in one shot.

This was at a super cool booth that sold old games and cards. Very impressive collection of the guy that owns this. He showed me some of his lower grade shadowless cards too. This booth cracked open a fresh box of Fossil 1st edition and were selling the packs for $50. I picked one up!
You don’t see this one every day:

And finally - here are my Pokemon pickups. The Fossil as I said was picked up from that booth above that cracked the box fresh. $50 for unweighed is not bad at all IMO. The Dragon Frontiers was purchased for $70 from another booth. They had several types of old packs from the Diamond and Pearl and EX era’s. I know they had EX Sandstorm too. That booth had some singles I picked up too. They had the rainbow rare Charizard for $200. Another booth had some Magic and Pokemon binders on the table. I was ready to check out and noticed he had a stack of graded cards tucked away so I asked to look at them. They were all Shadowless base in the 5-7 range. I think I got the best pick out of the stack with a Shadowless Poliwrath PSA 7 for $50. Got the new age sets as well because they were only 2 or 3 dollars a pack.

I scoured binders and took nearly all of their 1st edition Rocket common and uncommon cards for a buck a piece. These were just random cards I got from about 4 different sources on the convention floor. Got 3 holo base cards and a German 1st edition Gyarados for the purpose of putting in a WOTC binder. The 2 Legendary collection reverse cards might get graded eventually. I had never seen that Venusaur promo but I really liked the art work so had to pick it up. Needed the reverse zard for the Evolutions master collection I’m working on so I was happy to get that too.

Overall I had a great time and picked up some cool product! Wasn’t expecting sealed packs or PSA cards. Undecided on if I will open the sealed vintage packs or not. Until next year!
