That is a lot of trouble for not caring what other people think.

Nice amount of sales going out though, good for you!

fabricated my way home just now.
Look at all the negativity here. There is no way i will let this type of people buy from me. Pretty maxed out in business and demand for a small hobby operation. Scaling up is either sealed with is horrible margin or source to sellers which might change the market of the cards i sell.

IDK.

Oh no where will people buy $10-20 cards?!

In all seriousness people are just trying to talk about the charts you decide to post. If you want to share charts to flex, that’s fine. But naturally people will ask questions, it’s not negative, it’s normal behavior when someone makes a post. You are on a forum. More specifically, one comprised of some of the highest earners in pokemon. This is the last place people are going to criticize success.

Feel free to continue posting your charts, I’ve always encouraged them! Just stop playing the victim when someone asks a completely normal follow up question purely out of curiosity.

I seem to have joined the right community in that case, everyones better than me here, which encourages me to grow (sorry this is off topic tho)

One thing I’d like to know is where are you sourcing your inventory? Are you literally just cracking japanese boxes open and selling every card individually? Or are you buying large amounts of bulk direct from Japan? The one things that clear and confirmed is that you sell a high volume of cards, but acquiring/processing that volume in an a reasonable/economical manner is what I have a hard time wrapping my head around. You say expected margin is up to 400%, but can you give a general price range of these sales(other than saying most sales are under $15)? There is a big difference between turning a $0.25 card into $1.00 of gross profit vs turning a $3 card into $12 of gross profit.

Edit: To add in some details of my sales for full transparency: I have made 81 sales this year with an average price of ~$150. My target margin is 50% and I have done a good job of hitting that this year (so for example, I make $150 profit for every $100 I spend). This keeps my sales low enough to be manageable, but profit high enough to make it worth my (limited) time.

Please read the original post, nothing to do with $$, more the growth and trend of the pokemon market. All the people acting like victims are asking about $$$ numbers. Look at the trends. It is against what the Youtubers are saying.

The only ones are acting like victims are the ones that dont get answers they want to hear and proven wrong.

SMPRATTE the only reason i came here is you, your videos are very level headed, but this last post was way to emotional from you.

If you want me to leave , i will. If you all here want to see the TRENDS , just sit back and watch. It is not flexing or money, it is about the trend in the Japanese market at this moment and future.

I have a very strong vintage collection, but have realized that vintage is like prewar sports cards, slow moving and boring. The masses want ultra modern, and many here need to get off their high horses.

SMPRATTE, sorry to see you like this. really disappointed. Stop protecting the ones acting like the victim. Believe it or not, they are acting like victims.

SPPRATTE, really disappointed. really.

before i get banned by the victims.
You are looking at sub $1 and selling in the $5-12 range in bulk.
But condition is very important.
The flex appeal for higher end cards shrink the buyers pool. I would not be making these type of numbers with over $20 cards because it takes too much research to go higher end, the bulk is not there.

NOTE: I dont believe in ripping packs.

Okay, But how are you sourcing these cards that are worth $5-12 for less than a dollar each? These have to be Japanese ultra rares since commons/uncommons/rares don’t go for $5-12. If you don’t open packs, I assume you are buying in bulk?

Ultra fast shipping, quality and return customers.
No free shipping. Just fast and quality

CHEAP IS NOT BEST. People are wiling to pay more for quality.

That doesn’t answer my question lol. Are you saying because you offer fast shipping you are selling Japanese commons/uncommons/rares for $5-12??

We do huge bulk , what makes you think i am selling commons/ uncommons? Most are AR and above.

Japanese shops offer it to us.

None of us are hating on anything your talking about. I’m quite confused on what answers you think we want to hear, and while yes, I may not be able speak for everyone, but for me it’s just asking questions about something I’m passionate about. I really do enjoy your company and what you have to say, but it’s really hard for me to do that when you lunge out at every question. We’re just talking about sales and profits, which I think started when I thought profits we’re majorly thin, but I may be wrong.

I’m just asking questions out of curiousity, not skepticism.

Okay, so you are buying large volumes of bulk, got it haha. Why is it so difficult for you to give out any information

No one asked you to leave. If anything my and others posts are trying to explain how odd your reactions are to try and create a better dialogue. You chose to flex your sales, but get aggressively defensive when people ask a normal question.

contrary to what people think, This thread is about the current market and trends. Not how much i make. People keep asking about $$$$$$. That is a straight answer.

Those Youtube idiot influencers are out of touch. They talk about the Japan market and never been to Japan. It is hilarious.

Maybe because the youtubers spit bull out of their butt and we need a ACTUAL businessperson like you to give us truthful information?

people keep asking about $$$$ , that is not what this thread is about.

I do volume , so the numbers are more accurate than black label, trophy card sales in relation to the masses. People are buying , the market is not crashing. Yes, the prices are lower in Japan, one factor is March/April is when many bigger shops in Japan close there yearly books and have sales to liquidate.

Maybe this is better. This is the amount of cards i sold over the last year , rolling year total.
approx 47,000 cards sold , rolling year.

Dont ask about money. The market is still strong.
