If you entered for the code drawing, I’d just wait. The code price is going down with every weekly code release. You also will probably get your code eventually.

I received a code today! Any recommendations on what I should buy from Pokemon Center to help protect the cards? Would buying clothes or plushies be better than buying tcg product?

I ordered a few times with the SD Charizard, and had no issues ordering with tins. If you want cards with the safest packaging, I’d recommend 2 blisters and 2 packs, or whatever is needed to get to $30.

These are widely available for $16-19 (all of them).
It seems they learned and just printed a gazillion of these promos.
I think the lower price compared to SD Charizard is they are not English exclusive and not a Charizard. The set being available in Japanese helps on pricing.
Also seems like more codes were sent out to real people and not bots.
