Pokemon Center Items Lost or Stolen

Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice on how to handle this situation.

I bought 2 x ETBs direct from Pokemon Center US. They were dispatched in a “Single Shipment”. The order did not state if they would arrive in the same box.

A single box with the weight and dimensions of 1 x ETB arrived, but the other did not. As the days passed I got more and more worried that the items were either lost or stolen. It has now been a week.

My card has been charged for the full order amount.

I submitted a ticket with Pokemon Center. Their response was that the items were dispatched so they will not refund, but they did not provide any proof of this (trust us bro).

Both the Pokemon Center order and the Shipping Company have marked the order as “Delivered”. Something was indeed delivered, but only half the order.

I didnt bother contacting the courier as they have marked the order as delivered, and i assume they would just hide behind that.

I was considering opening a chargeback with my bank, however I have read that Pokemon Center will perma-ban accounts that file chargebacks.

Do i have any recourse at this point, or have I just been scammed out of $80?

Has anyone experienced a similar situation with Pokemon Center or a partial order, and how did it resolve?

If you didnt get what you actually ordered I would reach back out to pokemoncenter support, and maybe try live chatting with an agent if possible. Definetely contact the courier too, and get them on board. Something is at fault. If all else fails then I would pursue a chargeback as a last resort. $80 is significant money, and you did pay for it.

I’ve found the Pokemon Support for Pokemon Center orders to be incredibly difficult to work with.

Once they begrudgingly did send me the promos (Illustration Contest with Bulba/Arcanine/Greninja) that were not included in the original package, but they gave me a really hard time about it.

Another time they refused any sort of compensation or recourse for an ETB that arrived with a broken seal and told me they were going to stop responding to my repeated requests.

I would be prepared to file a chargeback with your credit card or bank, and hopefully you can use a different card and PC account/guest checkout in the future to continue to purchase from them.

This is about what ive heard for the past several years regarding the pokemon company. If the order has any issues then it is extremely difficult to get to any meaningful customer service.

Thats really disappointing to hear. Did you end up filing a chargeback or did you just take the loss?

I’m really annoyed about it. Have been avoiding paying scalper prices for months, finally secure the ETB that i want at MRSP through the official Pokemon company and it’s either lost or stolen. At least eBay has Buyer Protection…

In my case I just opened the ETB, at least I received it. If it never got to me or had been physically damaged like a crushed box I would have considered the chargeback.

Damn. Its my first ever PokeCentre order too…

I have had horrible luck with Pokemon Center customer support. I had a squirtle PC stamp 151 promo that was scratched by a razer blade. They wanted so many pictures that it was absurd. Never got a replacement.
I ordered an item from the Pikachu in a grey felt collection (1st run when it was per order) they just canceled and wouldnt do anything.
3rd they shorted me an Eevee Pokemon Together stamp on a useless garbage bundle and they wouldnt replace it UNTIL the end of the promotion & IF there were any left over to replace. Doesnt matter if your promo was missing. Only replaced afterwards if there are any left.

They just dont seem to care for the most part and just use ChatGPT to give out cookie cutter responses.

Positive update on this topic. After 2 months of radio silence, TPC emailed me saying replacement items are on the way, and I’ve now received the missing order items.

Lucky you. I had pre-ordered a case of prismatic etb’s from PC last November, but only to receive 1 etb. A clear packing mistake when whoever packed my package saw 1 case on the order slip and thought 1 etb.

After 10 months of ticket opened with support(2 weeks ago) for which i received 1 reply every 3 months, They told me they were unable to send replacement but will refund me the other 3 etbs. (Still haven’t received the refund yet). Considering a case goes for $2000+ now, yeah im still mad. PC support is the absolute worst.
