POKE SURVEY #2 !!!

Hey guys,

I’ve taken most of the questions that have been asked and also created a handful of hypothetical situations that you can respond to. It would be great to have a 100 person sample size.

Same rules apply.

  • You can take the quiz once and you can’t go back and edit- Surveys are anonymous. You will need to login with an email but thats only so that google can bar you from taking the quiz multiple times.- Skip any question you don’t feel comfortable answering or that don’t apply to you.- All the data will be displayed after you take the quiz. Return to the link at any time to see the most current results.

Great poll. Interesting data for sure.

Thanks for your time in making this survey. Had fun answering and looking at the results as well.

Another great survey, Barry!
I also like how the question “What type of collections do you mainly focus on?” is (apart from the smaller Trophy cards section, and two missing categories) evenly distributed right now:

Out of curiosity though: why did you put Thai and Indonesian cards in a single Other checkbox instead of just having 14 checkboxes with every language? I guess you were unaware of these two newer languages, or unsure if there were any others besides those two?

@alovell, You are a teacher irl? That makes this survey hilarious. Formatted like a test vs a marketing survey.

Only 7% for Blastoise? C’mon people

@quuador , haha I wasn’t even aware. Honestly, I had to google “How many Pokemon tcg languages are printed?” The list I obtained from Reddit must not have been updated. And yeah, It is interesting how similar and how diverse we all are when it comes to our collecting habits. As a master set collector and someone who avoids buying graded cards, It’s good to see that I’m just an equal slice of the bigger pie. A lot of our biggest social media/ Youtube channels kind of cater to their own slice. I’m not sure what efour user is David Persin, but I’ve really liked his videos because I feel like there is finally a channel that fits my collecting habits. This survey isn’t comprehensive enough to make any sort of serious claim but I think it’s a good start in helping everyone see some different perspectives and possibly see a bigger picture outside of the opinion of their favorite IG account

@dblast , I am a teacher. This survey, however, does not represent my assessment style. I’m anti-standardized, multiple choice tests. This was just the best way that I knew how to gather some information from our community members.

Thanks for making the survey. I’ll gladly always fill these out

Really fun survey and great way for me to spend a few minutes before bed! Thanks a bunch for taking the time, can’t wait for the next .

Thanks for another great quiz! I love that so many of the answers were evenly distributed. It shows how much diversity is in the hobby, and given how strong all the areas of the market appear to be right now, there is clearly a lot of demand across the board!

Intrigued that most people would choose a PSA 10 over a Beckett Black Label even if the price was the same. Would love to know the reasons! Totally get that a lot of collectors just prefer PSA subjectively speaking, but would I be wrong in saying that a black label is more likely to be stronger than the average PSA 10? Especially given how few WOTC black labels exist, for example. Is it an aesthetic thing, or that people view the ‘black label’ as a bit of a gimmick?

More questions for future survey’s:

How do you display your cards?

  • Display Cabinet
  • Shelf
  • Stored away in safe
  • Stored away in box
  • etc…

How can grading companies improve their service?

  • Quicker turn around
  • Cheaper prices
  • Less sticky fingure etc.

Have you taken out a separate or more expensive insurance policy to cover your Pokémon cards?

  • If so how much are you paying per year?

Do you sell cards under-declaring the value?

Is the Prototype Blastoise card (Prototoise) real?

Is the Collector Stamped Charizard card a customiser or legitimate card in your opinion?

Should artists do more signing events for Pokémon cards?

Should artists be allowed to not address their signature to recipients on the card (to help with resale)

How many hours each week do you spend on E4 or the E4 discord?

Good job, I think this one has a lot less vague questions. It does still have a few questions which are up to the reader’s interpretation though. For example, I interpreted “What is the largest quantity of cards you own of a single Pokemon card variant.” as “What is the largest quantity of cards you own of a single card variant which forms part of your collection” - for me that’s 1-9, but if I included cards which aren’t part of my collection I probably easily own 50+ of some commons.

Really interested to see the data on BGS vs PSA
