Poké Post campaign

Such a cool idea, shame the locations are so short and limited.

These may end up the biggest stumbling block for those wanting to complete the 151 Master Set after the (upcoming) EB Games Australia Charmander and Pokémon Center Squirtle.

First release tomorrow in Edinburgh. My brother is not sure if he can make it, but hopefully so to make it easier to get this for my Eevee master set.

Hope it will not be a big fight and sold out instantly.

It’s the closest one to me (Inverness) but guess who got covid this week. Goody!

Get well soon!

I got this notification on Pokémon Go today detailing the event, so I think it could likely get very busy.

The Paris event has been canceled for the time being:

Edit: It’s now rescheduled to December 2nd

Here is what release day looks like. I am for sure waiting to get Eevee until the last day of the promotion.

Happy to report that even though we arrived 30 minutes after the Cardiff event had started, we were able to get through the queue in less than 20 minutes.

You get one promo (+ matching envelope) to keep and one which you post on site to any address in the UK. Even hourly appearances from Eevee and Pikachu!

Please can we have more events like this Pokémon!!:clap:

Side note - Sold listings for the promos have already dropped to around £70/$90 here and still London to go also. Should hopefully be around $50 at most by Christmas.

I was in Edinburgh with my girlfriend last Sunday when the PokePost hut was there, we were only on Princes St and in the St James Quarter; I had no idea it was just literally around the corner on George St :sob: I would have gone back this week if it hadn’t been for just one day, I only found out about it on Monday when a colleague told me!

Made a little What If scenario with these promos and the three discontinued languages just for fun:

Given how these have massively ramped up in busyness, I’m worried the queue for London is gonna be 5 miles. Hopefully still go!

Do they have enough stock at each site to last the entire day? Would be a shame if they run out before the ending time posted

im hoping to pick mine up around christmas.
hopefully the prices tank once london is done and dusted

I got the French ones. I asked a favor from a relative who lives in Paris. They have the Pikachu on hand. I think they sent the Eevee to another relative living in Lyon.

Although Deutsche Bahn being Deutsche Bahn and me waiting in line for a little over two hours have made a half day trip into a day trip, I at least got my Eevee promo today in Bochum.

I should add my relative’s pictures from the Paris post as well.

It was only this week that I was searching deep into my memory to remember the promos events I attended as a kid, today I got to relive some of that with this event!

The queue when I arrived, organisers said some people had been there since 6.30am!

In true London fashion it was grey and raining heavily. I arrived at 10am and was queuing until 12.10pm when I received the promo. There was no cover from the weather but most people were in good spirits. Not that many kids though because of the weather I assume, too cold, wet and long for them to be standing there which was disappointing because these things when I was a kid were so brilliant.

Next time it would probably be better to hold it in a mall and do some form of ticketing where you come back at a certain time slot. I still feel that people really don’t anticipate how popular such events will be.

What was quite disheartening was that none of the staff looked like they wanted to be there (understandable in this weather!) and were not fans. Previous events I’ve been to like GoFest is usually staffed by fans which really makes the experience better and exciting. What was great was that there were no scalpers, everyone there wanted to be there!

Sadly while in the queue I saw how they were just storing the cards, pack and envelopes on a trolley out in the rain with no cover and it was just soaking everything.

Thankfully, after two long hours stood in the rain, I got my turn and didn’t have a soaked copy! I chose pikachu and eevee will be in the post so I’m really hoping it arrives with no problem.

Shame about the weather and organisation wasn’t great, but had a great time and got to experience something I haven’t done for over two decades! I really hope people start to learn from these events and more can be done moving forward that will provide an even better experience for collectors.

Well I am counting myself very thankful that my eevee arrived and that it arrived so quickly. I was worried that it would not arrive at all…

There was a mix up on the day with the staff and they were giving the wrong envelopes for the ‘take home’ card and the ‘send in the post card’ which people started to realise after the event.

If you see the pikachu that I took home, then you will see that the envelope already has a prepaid postage stamp printed onto the envelope. These were supposed to be the ‘send in the post cards’. My Eevee envelope had no stamp when I posted it which I did not realise until other community members also started worrying about a similar thing. Thankfully the staff must have printed postage stamps and stuck them to the envelopes which saved this event and I hope everyone gets their card safely.

The rain has done some work to the envelope which is sad because I love collecting these weird little things related to promos, so might buy a fresh envelope for eevee at a later date.

Participating in an actual in-person promo event for the first time in decades has been joyous!
