Why? No one cares about Metazoo beyond investobros who may even be bailing now.
Also, I suppose this might be an unpopular opinion on here, but Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are really fun games. It’s OK to not like them and grow past playing the games, but the obsessive online pile-on is a bit ridiculous to me.
They can definitely work on optimizing their code or whatever the right terminology is to reduce/eliminate the lag in certain areas of the map - basically all the bodies of water, but I really don’t care about online compilations of cherrypicked visual bugs that are so brief and don’t affect gameplay.
People act as though it’s a terrible game and you have no standards to like it, just move on. Why are you so bitter about it? If the games really suck (and I thought SWSH sucked) then it should show in the sales eventually just like how the box office of movie franchises/sequels go up and down depending on reception.
Game looks fun but I’m holding off for now due to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Tekken 8 coming out this week. This year is starting strong for gaming which is nice to see!
It’s 6 million copies now. The game clearly scratches an itch that Gamefreak hasn’t been able to reach for years now.
so far i haven’t seen any confirmation that the bulk of sales is from pokemon players.
As far as streamers go, only half or so that i know that are playing it even own a switch.
Here today, gone tomorrow. Just crazy seeing how many pokemon youtubers are trashing Pokemon to elevate Pworld, says all you need to know about em tbh

Just to follow-up on what I previously mentioned.
Like whom? Not that I think I would know any to begin with lol
I don’t care about this game at all since it’s early access and I don’t like to incentivize paying for unfinished games but I’m really glad someone is putting some pressure on Game Freak, the Pokemon formula is fine and doesn’t really require innovation but the performance of Scarlet and Violet is atrocious, I simply couldn’t bear to play such a buggy and laggy mess, Game Freak has clearly either given up, cut costs development wise or are being given tight deadlines, either way, they should be ashamed of releasing a game in that state for such a beloved franchise.
Damn, not even AI plagiarism, just straight up plagiarism.
I was surprised to learn that Palworld was made by a Japanese developer!
As much as i dislike the title (its Ark/Vallheim with ai generated pkm) it sold too many copies and the quality is just leaps and bounds superior to any pokemon game that has been released in the past years.
The game had barely any budget compared to that of gamefreak, it is still in “beta”, etc. Leaving all the plagiarism discussion aside, it just shows how messed up are the pkm games in terms of ambition, quality and more.
none of those are using the same models. copying a design is one thing. lifting parts of a model is another.
Reading through those Xwitter comments are funny because the opinions are that it’s either very obviously plagiarism or it’s very obviously not. I imagine those opinions have more to do with how people feel about the game than the actual evidence.
Just another case of the most outspoken people being the least able to hold multiple nuanced thoughts.
To me the evidence of ripping the models is pretty damning. It’s up to TPC/Nintendo if any of that will even matter. But that doesn’t mean the game isn’t fun or successful, clearly people are having a great time with it. I think it’s funny that people will say the copies of s&v sold doesn’t mean it’s a good game and yet many of the same people would point to the Palworld downloads and use that as evidence. Or vice versa. It’s also funny to see people say both it’s absolutely not a Pokemon rip-off - as it’s apparently an Ark rip-off - and yet this game is simultaneously an indictment of GameFreak.
Anyway, as someone who feels that Pokemon games have really fallen off and with no emotional investment in any of this, it’s really entertaining to watch.
this is pretty much where i’m at.
i find it interesting how people are so angry both ways, but it is especially entertaining to watch people try to do some logic jujitsu to say there aren’t direct copies from pokemon models. i’d imagine it is to make them not feel like they’re enjoying something made by someone who plagiarized.
like many have said, there is definitely some good that can come out of this. I would hope creatures/nintendo sees this as a sign to focus more on the things that made PLA so well liked.
they did incorporate quite a bit of that into SV, but one of the (many) things they didn’t include was the distinct art style of the game. that, and being able to just throw a ball and catch or stun a pokemon without having to engage it in battle were hugely missed.
For me, the only things Game Freak would need to do to “scratch that itch” would be to implement playthrough difficulties and code the wild pokemon/trainers/leaders from using “Tail Whip” 5 times in a row and things like that during battles.
I grew up playing Sega Genesis and N64, i couldn’t care less about framerate lol.
and mega evolution was a unique idea? Or was that Digimons original idea?
Me personally going to try this game out. Who knows game freak can use it to upgrade their outdated hot mess of a game lol. Scarlett and Violet still buggy even after the dlc.
