I mentioned on discord a few weeks ago that Bob Ross inspired my to give painting a go (Bob Ross Remixed | Happy Little Clouds | PBS Digital Studios - YouTube), I got around to it on the weekend and was kind of surprised that I ended up with something that didn’t look like total garbage.
I’ve always been terrible at art/drawing (my mspaint drawing on discord bonding time is literally how all my drawings turn out lol) and I’ve never painted before. Anyway this is what it looks like at the end, only took a couple of hours too.
i love falling aslepp to bob ross on youtube. That is awesome for a first try! Its amazing how simple a picture can be created with a basic set of tools and bob was great at showing and and explaining how. Nice job.
You of all people on the forum haven’t heard of Bob Ross??? How is that possible
He had a show on PBS teaching people how to paint (Mid-80’s through Mid-90’s). I’m truly surprised you never heard of him - not trying to call you old or anything! Haha
If there are any other painters out there I wouldn’t mind seeing your work
I’m probably going to keep painting & hopefully get better. I wanted to try because Bob made it look so easy and said someone with no exp painting could do that one, so I thought I’d see if he was right for fun. I’ll probably keep going with his wet on wet style and do some more landscapes as it seems like something achievable for me, as they’re not super precise or highly detailed and pretty easy to hide and cover mistakes lol
It was also pretty relaxing and satisfying to see what you’re doing come together to form the end picture
