The Question of the Day is a way to facilitate community discussion to help members ponder the unanswered questions of the world that are somehow relating to the hobby. Questionsj are many times open ended and up to interpretation. Feel free to post your thoughts in as much or as little detail as you’d like.
Helpful Considerations may or may not help some people focus their answer, these are blurred to not bother those who have their own ideas.
My own unnamed fakemon. A Dragon/Psychic pseudo legendary pokemon with three eyes on thin stalks like something out of Monsters Inc (or a Doduo where the head is just an eye,) a greyish white body not unlike that of Flygon with streamlined, scythe-like wings and legs. I’ve drawn it many times over the years. Stat spread was 70/90/70/200/70/100, ability was Levitate. It didn’t have a Unown connection initially though the eyes were conceptually very similar, but I definitely contemplated on a connection between it and my Unown evolution ideas later on.
Dragonite! I tried to add a small Dragonite doodle in every annual E4 signature event so I have practised it a lot. Being competent is a skill issue but I guess it will have its own charm.
Probably Cubone by now, because it’s the favourite Pokémon of a friend. All Cubones I’ve drawn so far were actually presents. As far as progress goes, I think I improved the lineart over the years. Ink is an unforgiving method, so there’s always a high risk of unfixable mistakes.
I’ve drawn quite a few pokemon over and over. Sharing the charmeleon because I have an art project in mind for the glitter gel pens and I drew a few of these recently. The metallic effect is even cooler in person
I’ve done Venusaur many times over but this was a study testing out color theory
Voltorb. When I was a kid it was an easy Pokemon to draw. I use to draw it in school all the time whenever we had some drawing time. All the kids drew Pokemon and the teachers hated it because it was boring for them just seeing Pokemon over and over.
For one of the E4 Signature Exchanges I drew a quick Voltorb on each card.
I’ll throw in another doodle. I was working on a postcard drawing by taking images from other cards/collages. I clipped off the left hand side because I drew a few pokemon interacting that I really liked and I might abandon this project to focus on that.
I’ve been sketching since high school but in my elder age I’ve been trying to learn more about color. I had a close friend come over recently and we spent the day drawing and chatting! If you have the time to spend with a friend I highly suggest giving a drawing session a try.
As an adult, apparently still Voltorb (and Electrode).
Looking at just the Secret Santa artworks I’ve made thus far, the three Pokémon I’ve drawn the most thus far are:
