How well do you remember the original 151 Pokémon? Could you draw them all from memory?
These are the questions I wish to answer. Well, at least, I wish to find out how well I can remember the original 151, and possibly get some others to join in on the journey.
I’ve decided to create a challenge of sorts. One where I will post the name of a Pokémon (in Pokédex order) each day, and anyone who wishes to participate can share their attempt for the days Pokémon. I will be sure to also share my attempt for each day.
Over the next 151 days, hopefully we will find out how good E4’s memory is.
So far, these bulbasaurs have been pretty accurate! Although, I suspect that the Pokémon later down in the Pokédex will be tricky to get spot on.
Next up, Day#2: Ivysaur
My Attempt
After seeing the bulbasaur drawings, I remembered that bulbasaur’s evolution line does not in fact have tails. However, if I had not seen the drawings I would have not remembered this, so I gave my ivysaur a tail as well.
Also, I don’t quite remember what ivysaur’s flower looks like, other than that it’s more vertical than venusaur’s.
Ill never not remember what the first like 400 look like, but drawing it would prove a challenge. You could give me procreate or an etch & sketch and it will make no difference in quality.
Even if your drawings are equivalent to that of those drawn on an etch a sketch, feel free to join in and demonstrate your memory!
While I am familiar with what each of the gen 1 Pokémon look like, I’m not very good with details, which is what makes it tricky for me. Even if my memory’s not the greatest, I’m still just having fun drawing some Pokémon.
