Pack Weights Database (post your info here)

The one I opened was from “comics-n-stuff-sandiego” on eBay. I bought 4 from them total. They had a few more, which I’m regretting having not purchased now haha. It looks like they’re sold out now, though :slightly_frowning_face:. The 17.36g one that I haven’t yet opened is from Noble Knight Games (who also sold me the heavy Sandstorm pack like 8 months ago). So I think it’s say to say that neither of these sellers weigh their packs.

@zorloth, Congrats on the pull! Beautiful card!

Thank you very much . Now I just gotta get this bend out lol. Because without the bend, it has a shot at PSA 10 and I need a PSA 10 for my set haha. Either way, still super happy with the pull!

@zorloth, wow, congrats on the pull, buddy. Where is the bend you were talking about? I can’t see anything, lol.

Thanks man!! It’s in the bottom right corner – here’s video of it:

Excuse my extremely shaky hands haha. I doubt a grader would miss it, but if they do then the card definitely has a chance at a 10.

Congrats on the pull! I love following this thread. You definitely seemed to have lucked out on finding honest sellers with unweighed packs!

At least that’s really hard to see in the videos, fingers crossed, man.

Thank you! And very much so. Though not as lucky as I was with TMTA packs lol. I had ~9 loose packs that I bought off of eBay back in January-ish and at least 4 of them turned out to be heavy lol. The way to do it is to buy from actual brick and mortar retail stores that have an online presence, especially if they don’t specialize in Pokemon. I also think it’s generally much easier to get unweighed EX Series packs than WotC packs since the weights vary so much from set to set. Whereas with WotC, there’s the traditional 21g cutoff that seems to be roughly accurate for most pre-e-Series sets.

If anyone wants to join in on the fun, there’s a 17.4g EX Dragon pack up on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Pokemon-Ex-Dragon-Booster-Pack-Factory-Sealed-Rayquaza-art-17-4g-HEAVY/184377961992?epid=1800926052&hash=item2aedc86e08:g:DIQAAOSwXBdfEp1i.

If the pack was accurately weighed, it damn well should have a holo. I personally think it’s a solid buy if you can get the seller down to under $300. Remember: with EX Dragon, heavy packs will be a 50/50 split between exs and holos. So you have a 50% shot at pulling an ex. If I hadn’t already spent $2k on EX Dragon packs within the past week, I’d buy it haha.

Thanks for sharing that information, super helpful! I’ll try and sway my wife into letting me get this one haha.

Quick update from my end. Ended up opening a 17.66-gram ex fire red and leaf green booster. I pulled an electrode ex as well as a reverse rare from that pack.

Very nice! I’m assuming you mean 17.66g?

yes exactly! Thanks for pointing that out haha
I posted about this pack a few weeks ago. I wasn’t going to open it at first but happy I still did

Damnnn. That sucks. Helpful data, though. Hopefully you got good reverse holos at least

I have some older packs from platinum and plasma series sets that I’ve been meaning to open for a while. I got half from mystery boxes and half were purchased. Only issue I have is there’s not much on these weights anywhere and was wondering if anyone knew anything a general trend between packs from the same eras such as amongst all platinum sets or all plasma sets. If there was I could somewhat cross reference them so that I can just keep the packs sealed if they are very unlikely not to have holos since I like their pack arts. Plasma also has EX cards so not sure how different an ex cards vs holos would be. If no one knows anything I am willing to open for the science of it lol. Thanks! Weights are below!

Platinum Rising Rivals- 18.38g
Plasma Blast - 19.80g
Platinum Arceus Blue - 18.45g
Platinum Arceus Green - 18.55g

We have almost no data on these sets yet, unfortunately. But we would love to add some – so please let us know the results if you decide to open any packs .

As it relates to exs vs holo weights – what I know is that, in EX Series sets, there doesn’t appear to be a significant, if any, weight difference between exs and other holos. I’m assuming that this would also be true for the set you’re referencing, but I’m not sure.

Opened my second Neo Discovery Unlimited pack. It weighed 20.83 and I pulled a non-holo Wobbuffet.

Fossil Unlimited at 20.81g and pulled a non-holo Lapras.

It looks like from the previous posts we are not recording long stem packs. Adding this one just in case we log them in the future. Long steam Team Rocket Unlimited weighed 20.86 g and pulled a non-holo Dark Vileplume.

Yeah, they are doing mainly short stem. Long stem are going to be around 21.3g+ to start hitting heavy normally.
