According to the sheet, the 3 heavies ranged from 17.59 to 17.79. The heaviest weight non-holo pack (out of a sample size of 3) was 17.62. So very small sample sizes, but Iād bet on a 17.79 being heavy.
right now every heavy contained a holo and every light did not, is this 100% expected? I thought there would be some variance within, like I thought weād see SOME that were HEAVY - did not end up containing a holo⦠but maybe it makes sense and there isnt much variability on the other weights
Jungle, 20.938g, light - non holo Vaporeon.
Fossil, 21.223g, light - non holo Muk.
Fossil, 21.154g, heavy - holo Raichu.
Iāve noticed that the packs Iāve owned, the 5 lot and now this single pack that were weighed heavy but didnāt contain a holo, they were all darker colored. Could be coincidence, but maybe whenever those print runs occurred it matches up? I found it hilarious I ended up opening another one that was in the 21.2x weight and not containing a holo.
I linked it on the first page of the thread. And when you open it, just post the weight and contents here and I or modestmudkip will add it to the sheet
What is this in reference to? For some sets, there is a lot of variance in heavy weights (so much so that itās tough to accurately weigh packs from some sets unless they are directly from a box). For other sets, thereās much less variation ā certain weights are basically 100% going to have a holo or 100% not going to have one. And then there are sets that seem to have print runs with pack weights that vary by as much as 1g. The āscienceā of pack weighing is highly set-dependent, which is the motivation behind this thread and the sheet.
Added; thanks! And yikes, 21.2g with no holo is rough. Interestingly, from the data we have so far, every single Fossil pack in the 20.81g to 21.19g has had a holo so far. But 4 packs weighing 21.2g or more had no holos. Doesnāt mean much yet because we have a sample size of only ~50 packs, but it would be interesting if that trend continued.
Long stem (unlimited):
21.4: light
20.96: heavy
20.91: light
21.34: light
For the long stems specifically I“m not sure if it even makes sense to weigh them unless you get them straight from a case, I noticed varying lengths of stems, likely where the difference in weight comes from.
1st ed:
20.76: light
20.81-94: heavy
opened this box myself, all heavies were in this range. There is much heavier print runs though
yeah we havenāt really been considering long packs yet. Just trying to get a solid baseline for most sets. I can say though that this data has helped me immensely when it comes to selling and buying and opening ex packs. Ill add the box 1st ed gym heros data now
Hi guys, donāt know if you guys are tracking ling crimp wotc packs but I opened a long base set booster pack weighing 21.47 and I pulled a holo from it.
