P/C on PSA 10 Ray GS (1st Edition, Japanese)

Hi all, it’s been a while since my last activity here. Hope everybody is well.

I’m trying to get some opinions on the current pricing for Japanese 1st Edition Rayquaza Gold Star PSA 10.

The public data seems really messy, which is why I’m struggling to work out the best comp.

Card Ladder shows a last sold price of around $17.2k on June 2, 2026, but then there is also this Pokecolor result from May:

1,020,500 CNY, which works out around $149k.

I’m struggling to find the actual completed auction page outside of Instagram, so I’m wondering how people here would treat this sale. Is the Pokecolor result considered reliable as a comp, and has anyone seen the actual auction result through the Pokecolor app or elsewhere?

I’m also curious why the public data is so far apart here. Is the $17.2k result likely a bad/misreported sale, or is there something else going on with how these sales are being tracked?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Cheers.

It’s over $100,000 now. The first figure is just wrong.

The PokeColor auction is definitely more accurate (ballpark). I’ve seen sale ads on IG for 160-185k without immediately selling though.

The 17k eBay listing was very likely fake. No one with an actual copy genuinely for sale would list that low. It was the only listing from a random seller in France, with publicly available PSA scans and no real pictures

To give a benchmark, I sold mine for 145k usd in early Apr 2026 if that helps

What would you all think about the JPN PSA 10 Unlimited version that is more common than the 1st? I tried to do some research to see what the price differences are out of curiosity, but I am seeing 0 sales pretty much of that card.

You can easily get 150, likely even 200

That’s surprising, because the Unl is more common apparently than the 1st, I would assume that it would net lower than the 1st edition copies!

It may be more common via pop report but, afaik, the unlimited copies are more rare for this set.. but I could be wrong?

I’ve almost never seen an unlimited Clash of the Blue Sky pack, however I’ve seen a handful of first ed packs in the 7ish years since I’ve restarted collecting.

I personally know someone who paid 200k on june 20th i think it was

This was solely based on this information: Gold Star Rayquaza Japanese - #5 by fourthstartcg
I do notice personally it is much easier to find a 1st ed GS ray JPN on places like ebay and auction houses vs an unlimited one, but I have no data so I do not want to assume, especially when fourthstartcg confirmed it.

@pingy for an unl psa 10 GS ray in JPN?

1st ed i believe

Yeah, it’s always a 1st edition one, I wonder if it’s because no one wants to sell their unl

Unl on ebay just ended at $136.5k.

Thanks for the update; I was just about to post it here to for data purposes!
