Hi guys, feel free to share your thoughts in relation to the stage system. Ive found that orders sit on stage 3 for a long time before progressing to stage 4 ‘we are grading your cards’. How long do you tend to see stage 4 go for?
I have two open orders, both in the grading stage. One since Oct 31st (cross-grade order) and one since Nov 1st (regular 66 card order). Will post an update once they move into the next stage.
When I sent cards in for grading this past summer, the grading/authentication stage took the longest for me, which took between 2-3 weeks. After that my order was processed and shipped out the following week.
I was sending my cards in during one of their quarterly grading specials. I found that if I sent a higher level card in with my orders, PSA would process my order faster, because of the faster turnaround time I had written on the box.
How long have you found your orders to be in the assembly stage? My November 1st bulk order just landed there, while my cross-grading order hasn’t moved out of grading for quite some time.
With stage 4, where it says review order, youre not meant to do anything right? If there is no issue with them? For example i cant see any button that says, confirm order complete etc.
While the stages are nice to check every single day the consistency of movement is impossible to predict. It’s better to just wait for the email that your grades are ready to save yourself the disappointment. lol
I can confidently say, having pushed over 1000 orders in 2019, that stats are meaningless and there are no indicators whatsoever that your order will do anything at anytime.
2019 Shortest Turnaround: 465 Card 45-day done in 7 business days.
Most Overdue: Sig order that went 300% of estimated time
Order size has a statistically insignificant effect on order fulfillment speed.
Turnaround speed paid for is not a significant predictor of likelihood of delays (Faster speeds miss deadlines as often as bulk orders)
The stages system is a placebo to reduce “where are my cards” inquiries and there is nothing in particular you can do to reduce the turnaround of your cards except submitting with a lower contracted estimate.
Loving the input from everyone. Thanks all. The order that progressed to stage 4 last out of three orders, now is on stage 7, while the other 2 are still on stage 4.
I emailed a ago about a 25 business day submission I had and the lady emailed back stating they were averaging 37 business day turnaround. I’m approaching 50 business days on a 25 day, so take that for what you will.
