Ninetales No Damage Error Population Report

Ninetales No Damage Error Population Report
This list contains every graded No Damage Ninetales card that I’ve been able to find. I have extensively searched the internet, but I’m sure there are some out there that I’m not aware of. If you have one of these cards please comment below and I’ll update the list!

The purpose of this population report is to get a true population count since this variant is not recognized by PSA.

I only include cards which I have actually seen pictures of since it’s easy for someone to lie without verification. I’ll be posting pictures of every PSA graded No Damage Ninetales soon ^^

To ensure this is an accurate population report, I am intentionally excluding ungraded cards. Since ungraded cards don’t have serial numbers there’s no way to easily track who owns what, so multiple pictures of the same card could lead to inflated population reports.

There are at least 1/2 psa 10 no damage ninetales in existence, according to thread: www.elitefourum.com/t/psa-10-no-damage-ninetales/14849/1

Also you missed some psa 9 cards from the old skool pokemon video, you have not put up the first 2 certs that pop up in his video.

It is also good to see they still come through psa from time to time. I have on right now that I would hope gets through as well. If it gets graded it should get a 6/7, will update when it gets back.

I think this is a good thread but I’m not sure what this really means. PSA don’t distinguish the no damage Ninetales as a specific variant and I believe they no longer grade the card at all if they pick up on the fact it’s an error. The “true population” you mention is merely a count of how many cards fell through the net when being graded - for them to have been graded, PSA would have had to not notice the error. What I’m trying to say is if there are 25 PSA graded versions of the card, that could mean that 25 have been submitted in total and they’ve all been missed or it could mean that 1 million have been submitted and only 25 got through - it doesn’t really give much of an accurate representation of the card’s population, unless the purpose of this thread is merely to track which copes have been graded.

On a side note: you’ll want to use something like Web Archive or save screenshots if you want to point to eBay listings as eBay makes those unavailable after 3 months - your eBay links here will end up pointing to eBay 404 pages and will be lost to time otherwise.

didn’t realize the pop was so low. I’ve wanted this card for a while now. it’s so clean looking

Good to know about the PSA 10s. I’ll add them to the list once I can confirm their existence, right now they’re just folk lore with no pictures to back them up from what I can find

I don’t believe I missed any PSA 9 cards, the first two cards that he shows in his video are the normal versions of the card which don’t contain the error.

Nice, good luck on your submission! I look forward to adding it to the list

I created this thread since PSA doesn’t recognize it as a variant on the label. As far as I know they’re willing to grade the card, they just won’t recognize it as an error. The most recent graded card is 51059057 which is fairly recent as far as serial numbers numbers go.

I would say that it does give a pretty accurate representation of the card’s population because of how rare this card is. I’ve been following it for quite a while and it’s pretty rare to see this card listed at all, whether or not it’s graded. I would include the population of ungraded cards as well but those are incredibly difficult to follow since those don’t have serial numbers and can be sold without a trail.

Thanks for the tip on webarchive, I’m in the process of taking screenshots of all the cards so that we won’t lose them to time

:open_mouth:! Proof of its existence. Do you happen to have a picture of the serial number?

I have a BGS 6.5 copy that i bought off TCA. I also have a couple of raw ones that i plan on grading soon. I will update you guys so it can be added to the list. My only questions is: Are PSA grading these now (as opposed to them just slipping through)? I feel like there is sufficient provenance for the error to verify its authenticity, so i see no reason why PSA should not grade it.

I really want to send my raw ones off, but i don’t want to wait 3-6 months just for them to be returned ungraded.

Awesome. Do you mind uploading a picture of it or PMing me so I can add the serial number to the list?

I’ve never submitted one so I can’t say from personal experience, but at least 9 of them have been graded since this post (someone tried to get it graded but PSA denied it). That’s 1/3 of the graded population that has been graded since a denial, so I think it’s safe to say that they’re willing to grade them.

Excellent, thanks for these! Updated the population

Really great idea!! Thanks for sharing, love to see how this grows if you keep it up. Always nice to see an attempt at forming a pop report for a card that is not labelled in PSA (or even graded by PSA now!).

For what it’s worth, none of these serial numbers are older than ~2014-2015 (give or take). There are definitely many graded No Damage Ninetales out there that had sold into collectors hands well before that. So there is a skew toward newer graded examples or newer collectors, whereas there are lots of old school collectors out there that have these buried in their collections which are not shown off as publicly. Will be hard to tease all those out.

I know @thecharizardauthorty has a few BGS copies graded. I saw them in a video.

I personally have one as well, but it failed to get through a few years back. I think I want to try my luck with BGS next time.

Thanks! Yeah it makes sense that some of the older ones are buried in collections. I hope that some of those collectors will see this and post their cards, I’ve already had great success so far as multiple forum users have reached out to me privately so I’ve been able to update the list

Awesome, I’ll reach out to TCA and I’ll also look for their videos to see if I can spot them myself

I saw that video of yours, hopefully you’ll have luck the next time you send it in!

@JoshsOddCollection, you can add mine, PSA 8. Cert is 16481871. Picture is in my photobucket

@JoshsOddCollection Not sure if you’re still doing this, but I just got a Grade 9 from Beckett.
