The texture does help, but they still feel more like a reprint than something fresh. With how beautiful alt arts look I was really hoping they went in that direction.

I think these look absolutely gorgeous in person. The sparkle is fantastic and the texture is well defined. I’m surprised these weren’t more well received but maybe in time they will be more appreciated.
I’ve always been surprised that TPC outputs such lifeless designs for these trophy cards, and I guess I’m not the only one who feels that way. The texture does help a little.
If I try and put myself in their shoes, I guess they’re striving for uniformity to appease past contestants and avoid a situation where one years trophy card outshines all the previous/future years? Seems like they could strike a better balance. I’d still like to own one

People love base set arts but this is bland ? I think it looks okay with the texture.

I keep seeing post all over social media offering 50k for one of the top three cards. The players agent even had their card for 24 hours
If it’s a set card, fewer people will want it, with such artwork.
Even the 2009 medal card looks so much better:

Anyone know how many of them are given to the winners?
Hope someone will correct me if I’m wrong but it should be 6 cards for 7 divisions so 42 total of each card available?
i don’t think pogo or unite get cards, so just 6 of each (juniors, seniors, masters; vgc, tcg)

Typically only tcg and vgc receive the trophy cards.
i’d also be really surprised if tord, pram, or azul sold their’s; so that takes 1 of each off the market
Japan winning all the 1st places for vgc will make getting any of theres difficult as well.
They were already tough to get them to sell it now winning in Japan itself… i think those 3 are gonna stay with them for along time.
yeah i feel like the best luck is going to be haggling the parents of the kids who won in tcg lol
