My initial impression is they are lateral at best. Honestly feel more sterile. Currently prefer the previous design. Maybe I’ll get a better feel when I have one in person.

Still prefer the 1997-1999 trophy cards.

My guess is TPC would rather have their inhouse CG group represent the Worlds trophy cards than commission an artist (i.e. not employed by Pokémon), to avoid bias with any one individual or party outside the company

Was really hoping they’d have done a killer SAR style set of trophy cards, would have been amazing as either unique stand alone arts, or as a throwback tribute to the 1990s variant. Imagine a 97 full art SAR style card

They look much better when the texture is visible! Credit to @raichuforyou for these pics and for the brilliant idea of shining a flashlight through the glass display to illuminate the texture!

…oh. I see. Yes. Of course. Sensible. 
They’re ‘neat’ but I really think these just don’t feel so special. I also prefer the older designs. They’re unique, yes, but I feel like there’s less style and heart in them.

I see Scott and others beat me to it. They look nice but i too prefer the previous full art trophys.
I think the pink on the previous #1 really helps it pop where this one is more generic
