I don’t expect many to agree. My feeling is it makes a mockery of the hobby to release cards drawn by any amateur joe blow.
I equate it to me replacing Wayne Rooney in Wembley Stadium or performing as the headliner at the Hollywood Bowl. Who would care?
It tarnished the sanctity of all that is pure with the hobby…to me.
I really don’t want to spoil every body else’s fun with this though so carry on and I’ll drop out;)
Although after the first two it was pretty hard to pick, since there are loads of great ones. Personally I really hope for Gardevoir, Darkrai, Slowpoke, Metagross, and Ho-Oh however (and a sixth one… Perhaps a second Slowpoke or the Eevee that’s at my nr 1 spot?), since Pikachu, Charizard, Eevee, and Mewtwo already get all the attention. Yes, I collect Pikachus myself, and I’m also curious to see what a Charizard would fetch. But considering Pikachu had 12 in the 2016 Art Academy contests and I still need 6, I would prefer it if the releases slowed down a bit, and other Pokémon deserve to be in the spotlights as well. Bummer there isn’t a Seviper. Great to see so many Slowpoke entries however. Great choice of illustration contest card.
Can’t wait for the entitled, degenerate, scummy western collectors harassing the winners to sell their cards(assuming the winners get x amount of the cards).
