Thanks for the info, I got a couple. Best deal yet on these with the 5% RedCard savings.
I still think its a good buy at msrp
Side tangent, but I like how TPCI just gives away the Charizard chase cards which reduces hype in sets and makes it more accessible. I wish Japan was doing this for VSTAR Universe. It would make a world of difference. Making the Charizard CHR a common in vmax climax was a smart move.
Just imagine, someone at Target Customer Service is getting 1,000s of calls about a Pokemon product being “resealed.”
This is peak modern buying. Anyone expecting to open 16 packs of modern and get positive EV is uneducated.
The reviews commenting specifically how this is a good product to buy because you can flip it have aged like milk
‘Thankfully there are promo cards. No other reason to get this imo’
Has me thinking …
It looks like there is a limit of 2 per account. I was able to preorder 2 and just order another 2. But target auto cancelled when trying to place another order.
I only bought one of these and decided to open mine. Back centering was pretty rough on all three promos but they’re going into my binder forever anyways. I did pull a secret gold Cresselia which was a misc card on my “to eventually buy” list, so that was exciting!
Whenever I open modern products now I like to pretend I’m a newer, less experienced person in the hobby, who sees anything as grounds for “resealed”. This way I can help speak to the things I personally encountered that were strange about current modern sealed, but shouldn’t be taken as “this means it’s for sure tampered with”.
I did order mine from Target.com, as a preference. So, I noticed right off the bat that there was some dark spots/ dirt or something sealed inside the wrapper. These bits were stuck pretty well to the box. This made me think back to verifying wotc boxes, and how there shouldn’t be anything inside the actual wrapper, but it was present on my box. The shrink wrap was good except for one corner where there was like, a pretty big excess loose bit. Also, I actually received 17 packs instead of 16, so I wonder if someone out there only got 15, rip.
Overall I think so many of everything modern is being produced at one time and it makes me sad that so many people have much higher and unrealistic expectations of what sealed should look like. It also makes me want to not hold onto any modern sealed long term because what if I didn’t get a perfect enough product and it’s going to eventually hose me down the line?
This is how the new crop of people think. Any time difference in anything due to bad QC, you know, churning out hundreds of thousands of pokemon items means its resealed. I’ve seen people say this about buying stuff directly from Pokemon Center. Boggles my mind.
scalper alert!
Same love that 5% red card all day every day!
Will purchase to hold. Tbh I am hype for Arceus Vstar UPC. Just because its Arceus, the god of pokemon lol
If the metal cards in that Arceus UPC were Alt Arts, then it would have been so good. Plain V and VSTAR make it kinda lame to me.
Yeah, I was originally interested in the Arceus box, but after thinking about it more I ended up canceling my preorder.
The GameStop exclusives don’t ever seem to be that hard to get. This box in particular has been constantly available for preorder since the first day it was made available. So I don’t see any urgency. I’d rather wait and see how well it is received by the community after release.
I also am not so sure how well the new metal cards will catch on since they can’t be graded (at least for now).
If I can ever get my hands on a decent number of these to use for experimentation I’m going to see what can be done about that. I enjoy a challenge.
i feel you. I just like how the box looks. not gonna lie.
Question, does Target let you return TCG products? I’m not saying these people are right but there are some reviews on Target stating they got a UPC and it had 0 packs. If Target doesn’t let you return TCG products then I would write this off as people mostly being stupid. The only reason I’m asking is because last year I ordered a hidden fates tin off of Amazon (sold by amazon) and it had been opened and came with 0 packs. At the time Amazon was accepting returns on TCG stuff but I think they have stopped that now. I know Amazon and Target are different I’m just trying to rule out someone ordering a UPC, opening, taking packs, returning it kind of situation.
There is a “start return” option for my order. So I assume that means you can.
I would be shocked if any of those reviews on target were real. 90% are probably buyers remorse.
