The $1500 sale was in August, before the strong PSA 10 Rayquaza GS sold for 6K
I wouldn’t risk opening these, but if you have the funds, and want to buy it, go for it!
It is a long term investment, but I fully expect PSA 10 Ray GS to break $10k at some point, and Latios and Latias are going to go up too. Plus you’ll be fully invested in the set.
yeah, the price is fair, and value will go up, but the odds of pulling a GS is around 1 in 3 boxes on average, and getting the Ray specifically is around 10% or so. So if you’re looking to pull one and youre a betting man, go ahead, but don’t expect much haha.
More importantly, a huge reason why the gold stars in this set are so valuable, is the set is notorious for silvering. Even if you get a gold star, chances are it is a PSA 9 worthy card …
Well the guy doesnt seem to want to drop a penny less even though one of the boxes actually has a few bad dings to the corners.
If they were mint i would have considered them for investment & just to sit cool in my collection but now knowing this im not sure I want to go ahead with the deal…
And hearing the GS in this set suffer with silvering it makes it seem silly to open them.
Thanks for all your inputs, been very helpfull as always!
