It’s been a while since I last posted here, but I’m back with something that really means a lot to me.
I’m a collector from Spain and I mainly focus on Spanish Pokémon cards (with some Portuguese additions for those sets that sadly never came out in Spanish). Some of you might know me from Instagram, where I’ve been a lot more active lately — @spanishpokellector.
Collecting Spanish cards is already a challenge in itself, but from the beginning, I knew I wanted to give my collection a unique touch. That’s why I started pursuing something that would make it truly personal: getting cards signed by the original artists.
Recently, I reached one of my biggest goals — completing all WOTC 1st Edition holo cards released in Spanish signed and sketched by Mitsuhiro Arita. It took a lot of traveling, effort, and the help of some amazing collector friends, but it was absolutely worth it. I still can’t believe it’s done.
But the beauty of collecting is… it never really ends.
Since I started this project, I’ve had another dream — one that’s proven even more difficult to accomplish: getting a sketch from the queen herself, Kagemaru Himeno, on one of my all-time favorite artworks: Dragonite from Fossil.
Sadly, getting a sketch from her has become increasingly difficult, especially being based in Spain.
I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but if anyone out there is going to an event where Himeno might be attending or has any info on potential future signings — and might be able to help me get a spot — I would truly, deeply appreciate it
Let’s make this one happen too
