Most disappointing final evolution (in your opinion)?

I hate this. But I also hate Mr. Mime, so idk if that counts. Also I agree they ruined many good Pokémons with horrible evolutions, list below:

-Magmar
-Electabuzz
-Tangela
-Rhydon

LOL I’m glad someone took one for the team! 1000% agreed.
It’s not that I don’t love Dragonite, I love him as a Pokemon and always have him on my team in the games. BUT… the big goofy happy boy is just so out of place in that evo line. It should have been a more majestic, serpentine Dragon. Kinda like Rayquaza, but not Rayquaza.

Dragonite, as he exists, would have been better has a pseudo legendary stand-alone Pokemon without and evolution line. The mysterious, powerful, mail-delivering chonker.

This is a shame as I actually quite like this Pokémon but you’re right, lack of thought.

I always found this evolution line to be slightly undewhelming. I think it’d be on par with some weaker-looking Gen 1 evolutions if it were just two-pokemon line, not three.

Maybe it’s the fact they’re all different colours that they feel like three separate pokemon.

At least, thematically, it’s leaves → blossom → spores (?), which is quite fun now that I realised.

I hadn’t really thought about it before, and I probably should’ve realized this sooner, but I think they’re supposed to represent the life stages of a dandelion. Hoppip’s leaves even look like the leaves of a dandelion.

The humble dandelion is a fantastic motif to draw from, I like hoppip much more now

I don’t like Azumarill. But not really because I hate it it’s more like I think Maril is so cool it doesn’t need to evolve into anything.

If Azumarill wouldn’t be the evolution of Maril I’d be fine with it coexisting.

Same way I feel about Electabuzz and Magmar. I thin they don’t need an evolution.
