Mom is cleaning the house I grew up in and found some packs from 1999-2002

I know these are vintage packs and rare. I don’t plan on opening them but am not sure how to find a buyer for these niche packs. Does anyone have any experience buying/selling these specific packs?

It’s only letting me attach one image per post but I have four packs.

I would recommend sending your packs to a consignment company like PWCC (@smpratte), Rusty at TCAGaming, Z&G Emporium, or Probstein.

What exactly does those companies do? What is the most popular for those types of packs?

What an awesome find!

I’m sure someone on here would be interested in them. You can send them to PWCC and they can auction them for you, or you can send them to the consignment places mentioned prior and they will sell them for you. Or, good ol’ Ebay.

First pic looks like a possible shadowless pack. Very cool find!

I’ve seen Rusty authenticate and sell similar packs/boxes. You’ll need to consign them through a credible seller in today’s market. Real or not, collectors buying these types of packs are skeptical of stories like this. And you’d get a better price for the packs with a credible consigner’s “stamp of approval” on them.

That Japanese base deck has a 1/16 chance of having a minty Charizard inside… you’re 100% sure you’re not planning to open these?

What exactly do you mean by minty charizard? What card is that

Japanese sealed decks were different from English, the deck inside was semi-random, unlike English which had a fixed list of cards for each deck. You can read more about it here.

Since it has a guaranteed Base Set holo inside, you have a 1 in 16 shot at it being a Charizard. And if that box has just been sitting sealed in a closet for a while, it could be in pretty nice condition.

What are the other 15 options that the holo could be?

omg wish i could find packs like that in my house. japanese VS set specially the half deck goes on ebay for about 1000$

There is an equal chance of being any of the 16 base set holos

1/16 chance of a Charizard and a 15/16 chance of Magneton

Those are from your childhood?
You had stores which sold both english and japanese?
Is it something usual?
I don’t have memories of anything japanese in my place, I’m jealous
