Card of the week - May 18th - May 24th, 2015****No. 4 Trainer
With the World Championships coming up in August, and the Regional/National Championships all happening right now. I thought it’d be appropriate to spotlight one of last years World Trophy Cards. The Trophy Cards for 2014 underwent a pretty major design change, becoming Full Art cards. My favourite is actually the No. 2 Trainer, but this No. 4 was the best scan I could get of any of them.
I’m not a fan of these new trophies. I think the Japanese ones are way nicer. At least they feature more Pokemon than just Pikachu. I would have loved it if last year’s trophy cards featured Xerneas and Yveltal, with this years featuring Primal Groudon/Kyogre and Mega Rayquaza. Ugh. These trophies are just so boring.
I liked the idea of introducing the 4th place trophy. I mean since it IS a tournament afterall, the idea of playing in the semi finals and losing to get nothing whereas the person above you at least gets a trophy card worth a ton of money, isn’t really justifiable or fair XD
I like the full art look.
