Ludkins UK Middleman Service Bankrupt?

Anyone a link to a dummy guide to recover that document?

It must have been a long time since I opened that document so not even sure on which device I’d have to look for it

Barney is lucky that most of us are more concerned getting their cards back than sueing him for lost value and not honering their part of the agreement. People should get their money back at the very least.

Sueing him seems complicated and I dont live in the UK. Not sure if there is any point

@xjustakiid here is a dummy guide (look into the message i replied to)

Wild that a few months ago the PSA UK partnership was announced and the prospect of grading with a UK PSA branch was likely in the future.
Instead we have this car crash.

Did you get an email confirmation after submitting? I just got from submitted successfully after clicking submit on the web screen. Also can we access that form again for records?

nope, no email. just on the webpage

Thanks for sharing this, it’s helpful for someone like myself who’s never pursued legal proceedings before!

I’ll be following that route for my February 2021 grading costs. Now that PSA UK / Ludkins appears to be rapidly heading towards declaring bankruptcy, should any of us who have recently submitted through ‘PSA UK’ (I sent orders in July and September) follow the same route for these orders? From a moral perspective I wouldn’t want to do a chargeback through PayPal for a service I’ve received, however if PSA UK declare bankruptcy then I’ll be getting absolutely nothing back from them and won’t be able to claim. That said, I’ve filled out the Google form regarding my 2022 PSA UK orders too, so perhaps I’ll get them back from PSA directly? I’d then feel guilty if I tried claiming back my grading fees having received back graded cards. Not sure what to do here!

Its an interesting point and one i thought about too…I have a July 2022 submission out with PSA UK.
I have still decided to do a chargeback via Paypal. Ultimately I paid PSA UK to fulfil a service. They have stopped replying to me, have caused stress and ultimately I still have no idea when (and maybe even if) I will get them back.
Furthermore if PSA is fronting the costs for the services out of their own pocket then my money should not be sitting with LC as they have not upheld their side.
If anyone thinks this is morally wrong please let me know. Curious to hear what others think as I am still slightly on the fence.

I sent in July 2022 to PSA UK too, annoyingly I done a bank transfer. I think given the fact we completed the submission via PSA first we have all the details they need to get our order back to us. PSA have responsibility to send them considering they were partnered. I also emailed PSA yesterday afternoon with my submission form so if I hear anything back that end first I’ll update it here.

I’m inclined to do the same. If we don’t, the risk we run is that PSA UK goes under completely (which seems inevitable), and will probably happen very quickly, and make it incredibly difficult for us to make any kind of claim for our fees/cards (as far as I’m aware - someone with legal savvy please correct me if I’m wrong).

From my perspective our moral compass should be guided by a risk assessment of the situation. Given how Barney has handled this situation so far, I don’t feel confident that PSA UK will uphold any kind of commitment to return our graded cards. If they go bankrupt (which seems highly likely, and soon), there’s a high risk we will get nothing. The one positive factor is that PSA themselves may be returning our cards directly, however this is not guaranteed and it’s unclear how long their legal disposition process with Ludkins will take before they even get around to processing all our forms. Given the lack of certainty and risks posed to us, alongside the stress caused and cost to business for some, I therefore don’t think it’s morally wrong to go through the chargeback process at this stage, unless anyone else can offer another perspective.

The optimist in me says I will have my cards back in the next 3-6 months. The realist in me is looking at 1-2 years…… if this gets nasty between ludkins and PSA/the people then god knows how long it could go on for💔

Along my lines of thought too, they still have the opportunity to respond via the chargeback process and will be able to confirm back to us what exactly is going on with the 2022 submissions. If they can prove that they are still processing my return then I can always cancel the chargeback. Again, this is a situation where we just need clear communication. Not receiving anything like this forces us to act.

Even after all of this, I still don’t hold anything against them. They were flawless pre pandemic. I have seen words like ‘scammer’ thrown about but I ultimately think its just shockingly poor business practice/communication.

Thats strange, in Nov 2020 when i asked if they accept bank transfer they told me they only accept funds via paypal.

When struggling financially or didn’t want the ability for people to raise claims with PayPal to claw money back within 180 days then that’s probably why. Harder to get money back from a bank transfer but not impossible.

That was the case with Ludkins but PSA UK they accepted Bank Transfers.

For anybody who submitted cards that are still at their PO box/office, I’ve drafted a generalised pre-action protocol letter for this. I don’t know how to post a pdf here, so message me and I’ll send it to you if you need it.

Disclaimer - I’m not a lawyer but the letter was written with advice from one and remember, I am not responsible for what you send. You’ll also need to change certain things to make them apply to you specifically.

Insane situation. No idea why PSA is getting hate when its literally Ludkins being the problem and PSA is actively trying to help imo. I get it, they picked a bad partnership, but people expect everyone to go above and beyond and that just isn’t the norm. Really hope everyone gets their cards back!

They deserve flack as well for not sorting or even outing this before making PSA UK an official forwarding service. This backlash is the consequence of it.

Do any UK submitters in here have experience in submitting direct to PSA? How to go about dealing with customs etc?

Keen to move forward and get the ball rolling while this mess clears up in the background.

I’ve done it on multiple occasions. Depending on how it’s posted back, I always chose FedEx. Upon return you will usually get a call from FedEx and they will ask to provide proof of posting and proof they’re your cards via email. I always provided the Post Office receipt w/ Tracking and then my PSA submission form. That was always enough to get it cleared.

I’ll always shill for haggis collectibles when people ask this, I followed this video and it explained the shipping/taxes stuff really well.
