Looking to Buy a Shadowless Base Set booster box

Is there an exact way to tell if a sealed one of these is shadowless 100%? Or are you just looking for the green winged box?

I think the only sure way to tell is to peek through the tiny sliver between the fold out part of the box and see if you can identify a shadowless pack inside. Not sure how you can take a picture like that so you’d have to go by a seller’s word that they are shadowless.

little bit rude synd, coming into someone else’s buy thread to ask to buy the same thing >____>

come on you gotta think before you post those

No for sure Way of knowing if a box has Shadowless cards inside. I do like to think of it like this though for the break break down and chances of it.

Green Wing w/ Country codes: %0

Green wing w/ out country codes: %50

Green wing w/ Clear wrapping: %90

Obviously these aren’t real numbers, but from what I’ve seen, and heard as well and experienced first hand, I’d say these are close lol

Yeah, sounds pretty close actually;)

There was some clear wrap ones on ebay for a while.

I asked the guy 1 million times to check em for me, and he wouldnt.

im guessing all 3 of em had no shadowless :sob:

you got the ebay listing link? curious to see the listing

If they refuse to check the pack art that is a huge red flag to me. It takes no effort and it would bring more value to the item.

Those are guaranteed not shadowless. That seller knows exactly what he has. He used to message me on Instagram attempting to offload his less valuable product for top dollar. He knows ever method, variant, etc.

This hurts my soul. The pokecommunity is full of so many lovers yet on the contrary we have plenty of tricksters and shill bidders going around :slightly_frowning_face:

how do you even get sellers to check the pack art?

You can gently push down on the cover, through the plastic and by breaking the small tabs, you can check if there is the “trading card game” red border. If you cannot see it on the right or left top pack, you can assume its shadowless. Everytime you see a box on Ebay that is being listed as “possible shadowless”, make sure to ask if they have broken the tabs on the box. If they say its unbroken, it hasn’t been searched, literally any other box with broken tabs, take with a grain of salt as its been searched.

if they say prior to shipment through ebay messages, the tabs are not broken, and when I receive the box and notice the tabs are, am I eligible for refund or moneyback gaurantee?

If you want a shadowless booster box, and that’s the way to check if they are shadowless, why would you ask for a refund?

Best way to check:

If they say that all the tabs are not broken and you were to get the box with them all broken, and you have confirmation from the seller that those tabs are supposedly not broken, IMO you would have no problem starting a return, as you are looking for a intact box. I would suggest you do not go about it by telling the seller you are specifically looking for a box with unbroken tabs for the use of a actual chance at a shadowless box, but just having a full intact box.

Those tabs I do not see breaking during shipment at all, especially with a box of this value, its would be packed so securely. However, keep in mind, this is wildly speculative, I doubt there are any boxes out there still fully intact, tabs and all.

The reason that there is an issue, someone can post a listing with a title saying “chance for a shadowless booster box” has the big 3 indicators, but they know its an unlimited box because they have seen the pack indications, but a buyer has no clue they have done that. A huge indicator the seller has searched the box, is if the tabs are broken. If the tabs are not broken it hasn’t been searched.

There is a nearly 95% chance a seller has looked at his presumed chance for shadowless box and its actually unlimited.

I asked because if he wants to buy a shadowless booster box, then the seller needs to see if it is indeed shadowless, so he would break the tabs if the OP asked to check, even if the seller previously had stated that the tabs were not broken. I wouldn’t spent the extra $ on a potential item…

In no way shape or form is a seller going to check their box and let buyers know that its not shadowless. A seller just needs to post that its a chance to be shadowless, even though they have probably searched it, and they do not need to answer any questions related to it. They just are looking for a buyer to purchase it without asking, in which that buyer will receive an broken tab box that has been searched. I am just warning the OP that if a seller is unwilling to comment on the status of the tabs on the box, they should take with a grain of salt that the box has been searched and is not shadowless.

If a seller has a confirmed shadowless box, they can sell for that a much higher premium, which seeing as its not a hard thing to check if it is shadowless or not, all these “could be shadowless” boxes are very high chances to be different variant unlimited boxes. If the OP wants a great opportunity to find a shadowless box sealed, they need to find one with unbroken tabs, as almost any broken tab box has been searched, and those that are found to be shadowless are probably going to be sold as shadowless or broken down into packs.

Yes. I only asked the refund thing is if I was going to buy a random box off ebay not knowing if its shadowless or not
