Your seemingly good intentions to warn Gary seem passive. Also, to try and give a man advice that has been doing this for 20+ years and to think he doesn’t know a little something about security is foolish. To think he’d keep all his Charizards and most prized cards at his house , is also foolish. Clearly just got a few for the video. Every serious collector with valuable cards have multiple security setups in place- wisely separated in different ways.
I spent some time with the girl, Lana. She is hoping to assist us with our Autism Charity. She has a beautiful sister who is on the spectrum so is very familiar with the struggles involved.
Yeah, even though I’d like to keep things close, my wife won’t allow it. When taking pictures or filming I have to schlep everything to the house then take it back to storage before bed lol.
I’m honesty not a suck up and would be the last person to do so. But it’s true that the hobby won’t be where it was today without the guys who are currently on top being who they are. Modesty, no dramas going about collecting for the love of Pokémon.
Awesome Gary! Though I know how you feel haha, I think I saw many looks at the significant other as well . Thanks for being a positive role model and influence to us all, much Aloha.
That Charizard sale was actually the first video I’ve ever watched on Logan’s channel, from what I see, Logan seems like a true Pokémon fan who forgot how awesome the hobby was. I think that this sudden surge of nostalgia combined with the reality of these cards becoming appreciating assets allows him to invest his time into the hobby for pure enjoyment without harming his financial status.
I do think that if Gary truly felt wrong about parting with the Charizard, he would not have felt pressured to sell, and his decision to sell was 100% the right choice if it’s how his heart felt. Logan’s reaction after the offer acceptance was also the reaction you would expect from a collector. This isn’t just another toy for Logan to rack views, he genuinely wanted the card. Great call from Gary, this man’s decision making single handedly affected all of our collections whether you have spoke to him personally or not.
Much agreed with the above. Many of us have had an increase in our wealth or been priced out of goals(and hopefully adjusted by now), but something magical beyond prices has occurred in 2020. Its a magical appreciation for these cards. The common and uncommon cards. And the vintage game boy games we played. The 1st edition box opening has made this year even better. I can’t wait for any other surprises and what the 25th anniversary will bring. I now love Pokémon more than ever.
Congrats on selling the card too. I hope you feel you did the right thing.
