This. He could had just posted in the 1st ed thread or the giant market thread that a PSA 9 Charizard sold for 75,000$ without mentioning the seller to get critique about the deal itself. This thread is just a thinly veiled bashing attempt at the guy.

Oh ok, I’m confused what your post was in reference to then lol. I guess you were just expressing the general principle that “no one with half a brain would try to scam someone with a ton of reach/influence.” I agree with that principle – I had just assumed that it was related to the topic being discussed. Because I don’t see anything scam-related here. So, in my view, this whole thread is pretty pointless because Logan Paul wasn’t ripped off or scammed in the first place. If any of what the OP stated is true then all it shows is that Logan Paul should do more research before buying things.

TBH I think whatever someone chooses to do with his money or even WHY, isn’t anyone elses business. He got a card he wanted quickly at a price well within his budget, his time is worth money too so maybe he simply doesn’t want to bother searching for those sick deals. Either way it’s none of our concern.

I remember when I was more active here 2-3 years ago and some of the prices we see now were unreasonable to see 10-25 years down the line. There’s so much wealth out there and the value of money is now decreasing it’s not surprising to see people invest it in gold, real estate or even collectibles, etc…

Right who really cares. Maybe he can join the forum if he isn’t already here and post a collection thread. Besides that why does it matter what someone else buys unless you’re simply appreciating their collection.

I will often “overpay” for an item just for convenience- If I really want a card and and it’s not really a significant amount of money for me, I’ll gladly pay whatever the cheapest option is in front of me even if it’s like double or even triple what the last one sold for just out of being impatient. This happens most often while I’m salty about losing an auction lmao. Of course, I can only do this with cheaper stuff but again, it’s relative. Not exactly an optimal way to spend my money, but worth it to me.

Someone paying a lot more than the last sold on a collectible hardly means that person’s getting ripped off.

I can’t believe we’ve still not talked about what happened when he went to see Gary in that barbie IG post!

What did he buy Gary?

I agree it’s a lot of squabbling on our part, but I would also say that any public figure bringing attention to the hobby is worth discussing. Probably best to sift through anything dramatic, but the good info as well as the rumors are interesting.

It’s pretty clear that they traded barbie dolls.

i will not comment on how much money people spend on coffee brands like starbucks each year…
so i will not comment on another person’s pokemon purchase. it’s none of my business.
if you really think about it, why do you even care what they paid?

I’m personally jealous if it’s true because I would have siezed the opportunity to sell my psa 9 1st zard for $69,420.

I came here to get a six pack. Not read a script from the Babysitters Club.

Think the seller is more interesting than the buyer - must have relied on his reputation or something to get LP to pay that much without any due diligence

Eitherway I don’t see the big deal. People here would jump at the opportunity to buy binders at deep bargains and don’t feel bad about it.

I heard the opposite, that he $harked a better price. It doesn’t matter. I hope he is happy with his new cards and his doggo doesn’t eat them. The last zard took a slobbering.

why complain about a topic you can easily avoid by not clicking? you dont like what someone is posting, no problem, skip to the next. some people like to hear about whats being bought at crazy prices because it has the potential to advance the belief of whats possible. same token, if you want to enter a topic that bothers you and let everyone know, i’m good with that too. sometimes you can get some great comedy out of the back and forth.

personally, i think its very interesting in terms of celebrity purchases. if they are willing to grossly overpay at current prices, he probably just felt he needed to have it exactly right now and thats what the buy it exactly right now rate was. good for those that have cards theyd like to eventually sell, and at the very least, entertaining. i’m sure everyone else that is trying to sell a 1st ed zard psa 9 is also happy he just proved a new price point is possible.

Actually he came over not only to play Barbie Dream House with me;) but also to discuss our December charity drive that is being worked on by Scott and I among others. More info to come:)

Now I couldn’t let him get away without filming something so yes, another one of my efforts to help promote Pokémon will hit his channel soon so stay tuned:open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth:
