How is a lightly played (LP) guy getting so much time wasted talking about him?
Unfortunately, Logan doesnāt need to save money. He has so much money that he doesnāt even need to win in court. Iām no attorney, but I would suspect that his goal with the lawsuit is to bully Coffeezilla by drowning him in legal fees.
Finally had time to watch through those Coffeezilla videos. What an unfortunately unsurprising situation. Loganās response video almost instantaneously gave me the ick; he looks like heās acting out of emotion and trying to āgotcha!ā On Coffeezilla or smth. This would not make me feel better if I was invested lmao.
Leave it to Logan Paul to only take fractional ownership of this scam
Loganās videos are so bad.
He said he is not a scammer because he never made money off the tokens (itās because he never sold). That is some next level logic.
If I recruited two people and the three of us robbed a bank together and afterwards both of them backstabbed me and took off with all the money, it doesnāt change the fact that I still robbed a bank in the first place lol.
Two members of his team stole the majority of the money, take some responsibility for god sake. You hired them under your name. Not hard to understand.
Not to mention the 1+ million dollars deposited into a coinbase wallet that is held by āsomeoneā on the team.
Its not a great look that he spends most of the video trying to disparage and defame Coffee man either. Im also not really sure why he would open the Pandoraās Box of legal action when Logan himself is in a very choice position to get the shit sued out of him. Bringing this to court and putting more eyes on what happened is increasing the chances of not only scads of people heās wronged mobilizing, but also the SEC getting involved, no?
āLogan Paul has changedā lol
To be fair, I donāt think there was ever a consensus on Logan Paul. Thatās why every thread he is ever mentioned in gets locked eventually. Maybe one single e4 user really bought into the idea that he āchangedā.
Frankly I think alleged fraud is far worse than being culturally insensitive (re: suicide forest video). Heās someone I would never tie my name or reputation to. All that being said, itās undeniable the impact he had on this hobby
I donāt think people have to feel bad about enjoying the publicity from Logan while not caring at all about him as a person. Its like a talented athlete who does dumb stuff outside of their sport. You take the good with the bad.
Maybe Iām in the minority, but I do think Logan Paulās passion for Pokemon is authentic, or at least more deeply rooted than some opportunistic business venture. There is plenty to criticize Logan for, but I donāt see his involvement in Pokemon being particularly nefarious. Of course, I could be wrong; I canāt pretend to know his true intentions.
The way I feel is that whether someoneās passion for PokĆ©mon is sincere is sort of second to whether they are a trustworthy person one should associate with.
I also think he has a genuine interest in PokĆ©mon. It just isnāt the part thatās important to me here, you know? Thatās not why I disliked his presence at the forefront of the hobby.
Ehhh, āculturally insensitiveā is an interesting way to say āfilmed a dead body of someone who committed suicide and posted it online to young viewers for clicks.ā
I think silently enjoying the benefits of bad people in the hobby doing āgoodā things that financially benefit you is wrong. Thats not to say a person should go on a crusade against someone participating in the hobby, but it is important to have nuanced discussion about it.
I think there is some moral obligation there to speak up, rather than only focus on the positives and fail to acknowledge negatives.
My point was that it was crude, not illegal
At minimum, I prefer people just keep their distance. Honestly the Scott Pratte method of not lending your credibility to anyone else and staying in your lane has a lot of merit in cases like this.
Ultimately nobody can control someone like Logan Paul. If they want to be central to the conversation in a hobby theyāre invested in, itās not like you or I or anyone can really stop him. But I think it would have been pragmatic for more people to keep their distance and let him do his thing without interacting with him directly.
Edit: I am obviously speaking abstractly here. Iām not trying to insinuate or implicate anyone specifically. Iām not interested in that.
My feeling is that one is a much bigger crime in terms of the law, but morally, theyre both super f***d up.
@stagecoach Youāre right, theres nothing directly to be done and I also agree that I wouldve preferred people kept their distance. I also understand why this was a massive opportunity for many people and can respect that. However, i kind of feel like you lend a bit of credibility with what things you dont say as well. Idk, its a convoluted moral dilemma lol.
I just dont love when people are quick to skrt around criticisms or negativity, especially when they are gaining something from it. Its kinda sus imo. I dont think we should avoid difficult, negative conversations just because theyre uncomfortable or whatever. Idk.
Also, not subbing someone specifically, just abstractly speaking and trying to articulate my ambivalence lol
Thatās true. He really did change the hobby wether you like him or not
We all got duped, agreed?
This thread is getting spicy.
Here are my two cents: How Logan Paul responds moving forward is going to be as important - if not more important - than the sins he may have committed in the past. He has an opportunity to make things right. Time will tell if that goal is realized.
Not that I have much faith, but the human capacity for growth and change is our most inspiring innate virtue. Most of us are only ever one conscious choice away from being better and doing better ā we just have to choose to do so.
I donāt believe LPās reputation is on the path to redemption, but I would love to be proven wrong. Nothing would please me more. PokĆ©mon and evolution go hand in hand.
Iām not holding my breath.
