Listing Cancelled

Nice! Glad to hear that it worked out. Did you end up with the card at the auction price then?

I have to agree that moaning about the seller not combining shipping is sort of idiotic. If the auction states no combined shipping, then that should just get factored in to a final bid price. I went looking at seller’s auctions and he is underwater on a lot of them, even with the shipping. I used to combine shipping when I sold Magic cards, and actually made out better because buyers would bid higher once they knew they had won an auction. I know as a buyer I did as well.

I’m curious about craigc’s comment that the seller offers pictures of cards with strong PSA 10 pictures, then ships out weak PSA 10 cards. How is this possible? Are you not getting the specific PSA card pictured in the auction? And what is a “weak PSA 10”?

If you don’t mind, I’ll chime in to answer your questions.

Some sellers have multiple copies of a card, and when selling PSA graded cards, may not ship the exact card shown in the pictures. Often times, this is stated in the listing description. A small subset of sellers are less than forthright about the condition of the card, and may exploit PSA guarantee in order to sell a less desirable card. In other words, these sellers may show a picture of a beautiful card, then proceed to ship a similarly graded, but less aesthetically appealing copy of the same card.

PSA grades exist on a continuum. Some cards are clearly “flawless” and would be considered “strong” PSA 10s. In contrast, many more cards have minor imperfections and would be considered relatively “weak” 10s. That is just the nature of a subjective grading system. Occasionally, however, some cards fall through the cracks and receive a grade lower or higher than appropriate.

As a public service announcement of sorts, always ask for pictures of the front and back of the exact card(s) you intend to purchase, particularly if you are buying from someone you do not know.

Yeah that just seems like nitpicking to me… Maybe he’s referring to cases where there’s multiple copies available and you don’t get the same cert number on the picture.

I’m just glad Gary got the situation sorted. That seller is legit guys, I wouldn’t say they’re a 5 star seller, at least not when it comes to communication, but I can say the same about at least a dozen of other top rated dealers on ebay.

I’ve bought from this guy multiple times. Yes he’s a d-bag, but he grades cards most people won’t risk so you can fill out a lot of random cards typically less than $10 in PSA 10.

Yeah this was quite a long time ago and I had an issue where he didn’t say he was sending a different cert number. I will say now though I have recently checked his auctions and he says you may not receive the card pictured. But yes it was an auction for a single card, no multiple copies were involved. I still have the card, I’m just picky with things like that. The card I received I wouldn’t grade a 10 myself, it’s definitely a 9 in my opinion so it was frustrating.

I’m still amazed at people in the USA complaining about 3$ shipping lol. To that I agree with him if you are complaining after sniping tons of his auctions on low demand PSA cards despite knowing he doesn’t combine, that’s on you.

I really just wish that sellers would take their communication more seriously. It will make me less hesitant to make an offer on listings and keep me coming back if you respond to my inquiry.

As for shipping different cards than listed, I agree this would be problematic for high value cards, but if hes got so many listings that’s a lot of extra photos to upload. It needs to be clearly stated however whether or not the pictured card is the one you will receive, especially if hes not listing all of his copies. Unfortunately a good portion of sellers see PSA ratings to be the only factor for price, rather than a starting point then using strong/weak to go from there.

same here, I’ve bid on quite of few of his auctions and get some decent deals on psa 10s.

when i first saw this thread i was like, “oh no, mans bought plenty of times with this guy and he now doing this!!”

I agree with you, if I was paying 3 dollars for each card shipping and he wouldn’t combine, I Would request he send them all individually.

I have to completely agree with this.

If the seller states that in his listing then there should be no complaining about it later. Like hamsteak said above, just figure out the total and bid accordingly.
If a seller offers free shipping does that make it free? Of course not. It’s simply figured in.

Now back to my thing. Nolan told me that since the 48 hours was coming up in a few hours he just couldn’t wait. The fellow has some sort of disability it appears so I just had to figure that in. He did offer it back to me but I’m still considering.

I bought stuff from this duechebag before… I also cancelled 5 items I won at auction because he wouldn’t combine the shipping and then was a complete and arrogant asshole about the whole ordeal… anyways if you look at his auctions it states he doesn’t combine auctions for anything starting at .99 cents. his auctions don’t start at that price and start at 9.95?? I would have paid him but after messaging him and listening to this rude assbag I told him where to stick it lol. this seller has 0 integrity, doesn’t know how to give customer service and surely doesn’t belong on ebay!

I agree that you shouldn’t expect combined shipping, however even if they do not offer combined shipping, and they are making you pay to ship each item, then you should get what you pay for. If they are not offering you combined shipping, why should you offer them the ability to combine shipping and send it to you.

I offer free shipping on everything I sell, it saves so much time and headache, I think a lot of people could save a lot of trouble trying that out. All you have to do is adjust your price to include shipping into it.

Maybe the best way to put it is…Because the shipping fee is not a shipping fee. Just treat it as part of the item cost. Pretty simple,
Now would I use this method? Ofcourse not. After all, most my items are free worldwide shipping. But if you don’t use my method it’s fine. Just don’t criticize mine. Someone could come to you and say “king_pokemon doesn’t charge anything for international shipping so you shouldn’t either”.

Finally, simply just add up the cost of what the seller is charging then bid or don’t based on that final number.

So the profit this guy gets on Not combing shipping is also not subject to ebay fees. Kind if a shitty thing to do if you ask me.

@garyis2000 not paying? it has happened before…

How is he not charged fees? Whatever the total is, ebay takes their cut. Unless he’s specifically asking a separate paypal payment?

If I am not mistaken, eBay changed their policy some years ago such that they receive a percentage of the total sale price (including S&H).

Yeah I’m not sure what @mini is referring to, but ebay takes a cut on everything… regardless if it costs you $5 to ship and you charge $500 shipping they get their 10%+.

I received 3 PSA cards from him today. All 3 numbers matched the photos. As per @garyis2000’s advice, I decided how much I wanted to pay per card and deducted $3 shipping.
