It’s a quaint idea and he put a ton of work into making it happen. I’m really curious to see how it circulates afterwards with people who aren’t in pokemon.
I saw someone else say it, but this is likely the most WOTC that’s been opened at once since the early 2000’s. That’s pretty cool to think about.

Now that we have a real thread about this, repeating what I said in the deleted ones:
Take any single day since 2004 and add up all the WOTC packs opened up worldwide by everyone. A cold Saturday in January 2022 broke that record for most WOTC packs opened in one single day worldwide. Almost 20 years after WOTC stopped production of Pokémon cards.
That is eye opening.
@eeveeteam, That is true! I didn’t know what to expect with that openings. But I like how they are doing different WOTC packs/sets at once, makes it interesting.
I love that they are doing pack battles on stage!
And also these children getting to open packs are melting my heart! So cute

I’m a few hours behind but amazing to see parents with their kids open up the old stuff!
Honestly… cool seeing the old cards and some of the big poketubers there and of course everytime Leonhart came out it was hype and entertaining but…
A lot of the stream kinda dull and boring… didnt get that 90s card shop feel… anyone else feel this way?
A lot more packs being opened than I realized. Stream has been going on for 5+ hours now… Props to all those handling the event and those still waiting in line lol
YESSS!!! that right there and more of a card shop set up with all types of product everywhere instead of a just a couple display cabinets and a handful of boosters on a slate wall.
Guess I had a picture in my head of going to toys r us or local card shops as a kid and was expecting something else. I guess without that expectation it was a fun event for most and delivered the nostalgia most wanted.

Why is the video private? Did something happen?
I’m thinking the majority of children buying packs in the 90’s may have never even set a foot into a card shop. You could purchase Pokemon packs almost anywhere back in it’s prime in, the photo above would likely resonate more with more people than a 90’s card shop would.
Just watched a video of a dad and his son, they were in line for 5 hours before they got there packs
