Legendary collection… overrated or underrated?

I hated the look of the RH cards from Legendary Collection at first, but they’ve grown on me. If anything, the fact that there’s no other holo quite like it makes it a fun novelty.

I especially like the color contrast on the reverse holo Charizard (shocker lol)!

Personally I’ve never dig this set, at least not as far as knowing it has it’s own holo variants.

As already said, it’s just reprints, it’s not necessary for collecting if you already have what’s inside this… And if someone would enter wotc without getting all the previous sets… I don’t know, I wouldn’t recommend taking this either.

But the reverse holos… Those are a nice addition. Certainly it’s a matter of tastes…

That said I wouldn’t spend money on 110 reverses (I would if I’ve started before the boom).

Expensive and notoriously hard to grade :')

I used to have a very negative opinion of this set, putting it in the same tier as Base 2 and felt it was “just another reprint” set. But over time I’ve really grown to love the reverse holo pattern. The ‘fireworks’ holo is certainly not going to be everyone’s cup of tea (it does evoke shades of fake sticker cards) but it’s absolutely striking when viewed from different angles and really ‘pops’ in proper lighting. It’s also a unique release that Japan didn’t get, which is kinda rad.

What I really love about Legendary Collection reverses is that they feel like a way to honour your favourite cards from Base - Rocket. They are in no way my top collecting priority but having one feels like a true labour of love.

I think this is what changed my mind a little too. I had never seen many in person and when I finally did they just looked better than they ever did in pictures.
