Is there any real knowledge about the rarity of these packs/if they can be distinguished in any way. Apologize if this was answered somewhere here before but a quick search turned up nothing really of value. There’s a bunch of info out there about different base set box/pack variants, but jungle no symbol seems to be flying under the radar.
The cards don’t seem to be extremely rare, but even then the prices seem relatively low to me. Do people just not really care about them that much? Obviously it’s not on the same level as shadowless, but it’s still a super early WOTC set with a well-known, well-documented error, especially considering the prices of 1st Ed jungle holos nowadays. Curious what you guys think about this.
TLDR; Jungle No Symbol: from where? how rare? any knowledge/information available?
You’re saying the prices seem relatively low to you, yet the prices aren’t far off from the 1st edition prices and much more than the Unlimited prices.
Personally, the fact that it’s not exactly a super rare error doesn’t make the cards as appealing to me as far as errors go. The ratio of 1st edition Jungle holos to No Symbol Jungle holos in the population report is currently 3-to-1. Whether that’s representative of the “true” population or not I’m not sure; it’s possible that one or the other was graded disproportionately for whatever reason. But the Jungle No Symbol holos are by no means truly rare errors like say No Damage Ninetales.
I prefer 1st editions. They match my 1st edition Base and 1st edition Fossil cards better.
But I know a lot of people love errors and prefer No Errors because they see them as more unique. Which is why the price isn’t *too* far off from 1st edition prices. Again, I don’t see this as being underpriced.
Jungle no symbol cards in psa 10 are incredibly rare and some of the lowest population of psa 10s collectively in the entire hobby. Its alomost impossible to find no symbol vaporeon 10s, and jolteons and a lot of others in gem mint condition. I wouldnt be surprised if theyre hitting 4k. Unless youre strictly speaking on raws. In which even a great condition raw no symbol is still expensive if the seller knows what its worth is. As for differentiating between a regular pack and no symbol its impossible atm.
The price of the no symbol PSA 10 s always seemed low to me considering the difficulty in grading jungle cards. Although I am not sure if the silvering was present in unlimited like the 1st edition version was.
From my personal experience opening no symbol packs, I had a very good quality batch and scored more 10’s than 9’s on the holos, slivering was not present at all, again just my experience.
I just bought this on the latest round of PWCC. I’m a Jolteon avid collector, but no symbol is one ive been chasing for a while. Errors are errors. I fancy it.
