Getting backed up on my collection additions pictures so this is actually from a few days ago.

Got some really amazing items here! Got some sealed lenticular Tazos to add to my newly started sealed tazo collection. An “unpunched” set of promotional large sized battle coins from the UK! Although that Wartortle looks a bit suspect :joy: Got in the first of hopefully many Pokémon Super Pog Super Slammers and got in few vintage rule books (trying hard not to get sucked in another collection!).

Lastly is an item I am very excited about. It’s a $5 off coupon for the release of the Pokémon Trading Card Game GBC! These guys were given out at KMart prior to the release of the game. The games hard release in the US was April 10, 2000, but KMart didn’t get it until April 12, 2000. The significance of that to me is April 12th just so happens to be my birthday!

Trying to get all these collection updates out so for ONCE I am glad there is no mail on Sundays lol

Here we have some very nice collection additions including the start of my next odd ball collection: Luggage Tags!

When you qualify for Worlds the fine folks at Nintendo send you a nice little invitational care package. Included in these packages are luggage tags since they assume you will be traveling. I couldn’t think of a better ancillary item for me to collect! Included in the picture are some very nice large rubber tags from 2007, 2008, and 2009. We also have two plastic card tags from 2010 and 2011!

Also featured are two more lanyards to add to my collection and a set of four sealed dice sets from the Professor Pokémon program! These are promotional items given out to people who qualify to become a Pokémon Professor! Didn’t even realize they existed until I came across these on eBay!

Wow amazing collection man, some really beautiful stuff in this thread. May I ask how you were storing them in the pics uou uploaded at the start of the thread in 2017?

@blondeychipsahoy,

That is such a coincidence! I was actually planning on doing a post on my collection page about how I store my items and I have some pictures already uploaded! I am assuming you mean the coins in the first picture. Well in that picture I am storing the coins in cardboard coin flips and then storing those flips in BCW 20 pocket coin pages and then storing those pages in a binder. For small Japanese coins, you can get away with flips that hold half dollars or higher depending on how tight you want the fit to be. There is also some off standard-sized one for half dollars that are snugger and I use those when I can. For larger coins, you have to use dollar coin flips, but actually I have been on a little coin storage journey of sorts these past few weeks.

I decided to move away from the cardboard flips because pulling them in and out sometimes split the pockets in the page and the staples are a pain. I started primarily using the BCW Vinyl Coin flips pictured. These are easier to get in and out without damaging the pages. They hold the coins in without the need for staples and can be reused if you pull a coin from your collection. They do seem like they sacrifice a bit in the way of protection, as I feel the closure of the cardboard flips seal better than the vinyl ones. They worked for the majority of my collection of coins, pogs, tazos, etc.

When coins started getting graded I decided I wanted better protection. I am now working on eventually getting every coin capsulated. I am currently using Entrust Half Dollar capsules that you can find hobby lobby. These seem to be the ones best in my opinion suited to fit both Japanese coins (with black foam spacer) and American larger coins (without spacer). They are a non-standard size which makes it hard to find and when boxed it does sacrifice the ability to see the coins to check against new additions for condition and whatnot. I am now working on finding capsule pages that the capsules can click into and be viewed like binder pages. I only recommend this if you are serious about your coins. The capsules add .50 to the price of every coin, the pages add about .40 per coin so all in once started it costs about $1 extra every coin. Doesn’t sound like much but I have over 1000 I want capsuled so it’s kind of a pain lol.

Here is a quick pic of all the supplies I normally use in most of my collection storage.

Loving the way your collection grows. It’s like 90’s Nostalgia after 90’s Nostalgia vibes for me. What year are those tazos actually from? I know little to nothing of them.

Got some new storage boxes for my smaller pins! Still need a few more oddball sizes, but I am slowly on my way to boxing and storing my entire sealed pin collection!

Been forgetting to make updates here. Sorry about that guys.

I was wondering how you went about storing all these items. Would love to see some more of all the storage solutions.

You make me want to collect pins! That millennium set is my favourite. And I didn’t know people besides me collected the worlds luggage tags lmao

@dizzylochs, I did this post a while back about my various storage methods. It’s definitely been a fun challenge lol

@mykel, That is a sweet set! I always loved pins and have collected literally thousands over the years. My favorite are my pokemon pins though. None others get the star treatment like them. I think people don’t realize how cool the art is on some of the luggage tags. If you have any extras feel free to let me know.

Got in a grail pin of mine today! A sealed 2018 Pokémon World Championship Nashville STAFF pin! Staff pins are among the HARDEST Championship pins to find. I have been slowly collecting over the years and am close to a complete sealed set! I took a picture of my current collection!

Got a backlog of updates to share with you guys!

In the first picture, we got a whole lot of Pokémon 2018 Championships swag! Two hats, two sets of sleeves, one deck box, two competitors badges, one spectator badge and a North American version of the Competitor pin to add to my sealed collection.

In the second picture, we have my current sealed sleeve collection! It’s hard to tell but each set is sealed and stored in a clear foldout box.

In the final picture, we have my latest Pokémon center pin additions. And Pikachu/Eevee greeting card pin set as well as another slider pin!

HOLY GRAIL TIME!

This Staff pin is one of only 2 Championship Staff pins I was missing to complete my collection. All I could find was one picture from an old eBay auction that was taken down. I messaged the seller and the next thing I knew I was in possession of the exact pin I from the picture! The power of asking!

I am very excited about this latest collection addition! These pieces will be the new jewels of my Championship lanyard badge collection! Here we have four STAFF badges complete with lanyards! These are so few and far between I had given up on even looking for them and then manage to score these from the same seller I bought the DC Staff badge from. The seller was even nice enough to thrown in a yellow Play Pokémon lanyard which turns out I do not have!

Got in a very nice lot of vintage Pokémon buttons! Got these from a former Blockbuster employee and they kept them in amazing condition! The Pikachu and Electabuzz buttons in the bottom row actually have lights!

Just got in this truly AMAZING lot from eBay. Borrowing the eBay picture because I honestly don’t know if I could do a better job lol. Here we have a COMPLETE collection of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Pokémon cardboard cut out coins! I have picked up a few of these over the years, but had given up hope of completing a set. It’s so hard to find cutout coins that survived all these years since kids were the primary owners and you’d have to be crazy to start cutting into vintage boxes nowadays so pretty much the supply out there is IT. The lot even included a few uncut back panels and quite a few extras!

Amazing indeed, congrats on finding this rare collection! This seems to be even more niche than your regular stuff (no offense :wink:). Would you mind sharing what something like this goes for? I assume there is no established market value and I’m really curious :blush:

@muk,

It is definitely more niche than what I usually go for, but I couldn’t pass it up!

I don’t mind you asking at all. All in I paid right under $60. Although I approached the auction like I do large pog auctions by putting a bid for $1 per pog so my max bid was over $100 so I am VERY happy with $60 lol! If I were to sell the extras I would probably sell them individually for $3.
