All stock photos of e1 cards are in Unlimited ed. Check out the Pikachu on the Starter deck and you’ll see that it is Unlimited too. There is one or two sellers on Yahoo who uses stock photos of e1 cards and they are all in UED which is listed as 1st ed on their titles.
If an e1 card is UED in a stock photo, chances are it does not exist unless there is non-stock photo to back that up. In my opinion, all UED e1 cards have been uncovered as the latest one to be uncovered was an UED Cyndaquil which happen a year or more ago and the same ones keep appearing.
I’m still not sure about those Typhlosion cards and I’ve not checked PSA’s grade count yet so some may have gone up now. As mentioned on my blog post I’ve probably seen so many Pichu cards simply because that’s the only one I really ever look for myself and I’m sure some of those are duplicate entries (i.e. cards sold by one person then sold on by the buyer at a later point).
Very pleased I managed to pick this up for 9 USD on ebay a few months back. I’m a cyndaquil collector and was worried I’d never be able to get this rare unlimited variant!
Holy smokes that went for about $3000?? What would it grade at PSA with its unfortunate damage? Other than the one that went for cheap earlier in this thread do we know the average sold prices for other raw zard copies?
I’m so glad I saw this thread. I was always sad I had an unlimited Charizard and not 1st edition but now seeing this thread, I suddenly appreciate the card. I sent the card in to get graded. Hoping to see it later this year. Mines in some rough shape too sadly but hey I wouldn’t mind a 4. That’s a cool number!!
A Twitter user with a very impressive collection has shared pictures of their unlimited Pikachu and Feraligatr cards, bringing the total for both of those up to 6. A Chikorita can also be seen in the Feraligatr picture, bringing the total of that up to 10.
It’d be really interesting to find out how many other cards they have, however as is always the case they don’t appear to know themselves how the cards were distributed. Their theory appears to be that these were included in a late shipment of the e-Reader, which is one I’ve not heard before but is certainly feasible.
All you Charizard fans will be happy to know I’ve reduced my Charizard count from 18 to 17 as a card which was mysteriously graded a few months ago has now appeared for sale and, in true PSA fashion, it’s mislabelled:
To my surprise both of these disappeared from the pop report this week so I’ve removed both from my list. What’s peculiar is that the population of the 1st edition card hasn’t increased, so my guess is that these were Typhlosion cards from a completely different set.
Nice! I was hoping with such a long description it’d go into detail about where the card originates but the seller doesn’t know either. Assuming it isn’t a duplicate this is now the 8th Cyndaquil I’m aware of to have surfaced.
It’ll be interesting to see if this sells considering this Chikorita is still up for sale for under half the price of this one - this one has been listed for sale since 2019.
A seller on Mercari has listed a Pichu, Charmander#10, Meowth and Chikorita today. Once again it’s a single seller with multiple cards who has no idea of their origin.
All of the cards are in slightly rough condition, so I can’t imagine they’ll sell for the prices they’re currently at (between 222,222 JPY and 355,555 JPY).
This is the 22nd Pichu, 4th Charmander, 5th Meowth and 11th Chikorita I’m aware of.
It indeed exists. Go to page 2 of this thread to see it.
Unfortunately, it was stolen iirc, so its current whereabouts are unknown… If anyone ever sees the Japanese unlimited edition E1 Charizard in PSA-10 with PSA number 28479148, contact unlimited_spaghetti immediately.
