A Croconaw on Yahoo Auctions!
Tempting at that price

Unsure to trust it or not, I was bidding on that one and it was up to around that price and they cancelled the auction last second and reposted it so I stay away from it. just a heads up! Awesome card though

The Pichu I mentioned in my last post sold for 45,000 JPY which is higher than I was expecting. It was still at 20,000 JPY with 10 minutes to go but then the new bids extended it by almost 30 minutes.

Interesting, this is the same Croconaw which appeared early last month which the seller abruptly ended after it had been bid up to 39,500 JPY - I think it still had a couple of days left, too: page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/o469731753. No idea why they cancelled that listing, but it looks like there were no bites on this new one which has just ended with 0 bids.

Another Cyndaquil up on Mercari for anyone looking.

Nice! I’ve not seen this particular card before, that’s Cyndaquil number 9 for me.

We’re not even half way through the year and I’ve so far had to update the counts on my blog article 16 times to add 23 new cards which have appeared. I guess this is a sign that more and more people are learning about the cards.

Pichu and Bulbasaur together in the same listing: page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g509921668.

I think these are both cards which sold on Mercari a few months ago for 1,100 JPY and 3,000 JPY, though unfortunately those listings have now been taken down and I didn’t save images of the backs of the cards to confirm.

Either way the Pichu looks to be in very good condition. I wonder if they’ll split them into two listings in future.

I missed a Bulbasaur :frowning_with_open_mouth::frowning_with_open_mouth::pensive: Komiya would be disappointed :pensive:
Edit: oh they are on auction rn too. Hmmmmmmm

A damaged Pichu and Pikachu have been listed by a seller claiming they’re selling them because they have since picked up better condition versions for their collection: page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v800442666 (cc @quuador )

Edit: The seller has just listed up a Chikorita with pretty much the same description: page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x781803302.

Last week a PSA 10 Pichu and PSA 8 Charizard appeared on PSA’s pop report and this week a PSA 10 Pikachu has appeared.

Until we see those appear somewhere it’s difficult to say whether these are actual unlimited cards or just mislabels.

I was hopeful that the PSA 10 Pichu would have been the card I sent off in May last year but alas none of the other cards from my submission have made a dent on the pop report yet. I’m continuing to brace myself for a mislabelled PSA 6 grade on that instead.

I just came across a croconaw that just appeared on Mercari a little bit ago.

I’m glad more are showing up!!

Edit: whoops I see this is just a relist from pichufan’s post on the previous page!

Has anyone every seen an unlimited Mew? Asking for, er….a friend.

The only cards outside of the Pokémon-e Starter Deck which have surfaced so far are Charizard, Clefairy, Meowth, Pichu, Pikachu and Ponyta. Ponyta was mass-printed as part of Japan’s Info Pack vol. 4 and is not rare, but the others are very rare and the source is still unknown.

If you’re interested I have an article about the Unlimited e-Series 1 cards at pichu.blog/unlimited-e1 - it details everything we know about the set so far.

I still think the Charizard and Pichu had some kind of special release since there are more copies of those in comparison and they’re both non-Holo Rares, and the Clefairy, Meowth, and Pikachu come from unlimited edition Pokémon-e Starter Decks that were rumored to be given at some events (since we do know about the /029 unlimited edition cards from the same Pokémon-e Starter Deck). It would mean quite a few other cards from the set that were also included in the deck should exist in unlimited edition, even though we haven’t seen a single copy yet though:

001/128 Koffing
002/128 Hoppip
003/128 Caterpie
004/128 Ekans
005/128 Oddish
006/128 Vulpix
007/128 Ponyta
008/128 Poliwag
009/128 Shellder
010/128 Krabby
011/128 Goldeen
012/128 Magikarp
013/128 Marill
014/128 Qwilfish
015/128 Corsola
016/128 Pikachu
017/128 Mareep
018/128 Abra
019/128 Gastly
020/128 Diglett
021/128 Machop
022/128 Geodude
023/128 Cubone
024/128 Larvitar
025/128 Pidgey
026/128 Rattata
027/128 Spearow
028/128 Clefairy
029/128 Meowth
030/128 Tauros
031/128 Dratini
032/128 Houndour

@quuador I’m trying not to jump to any conclusions until there’s some actual evidence. All I can say is:

  • Sellers with the usual Pokémon-e Starter Deck cards also tend to have Pichu and Charizard (implying that their releases are at least linked in some way);
  • I’m only aware of 9 of the 29 main cards from the Pokémon-e Starter Deck which have surfaced in unlimited (for all we know the other 20 didn’t have an unlimited print).

Charizard and Pichu appear to be outliers right now because they don’t fit in with the Pokémon-e Starter Deck release, but we don’t know if these cards were from an unlimited Pokémon-e Starter Deck box to begin with.

With the exception of Ponyta everything right now is just speculation.

Edit: (Sorry @quuador for editing this after you’ve already seen the post) To add to this, this is how the counts of each of the cards have changed since I started keeping track in my blog post in June last year (I’ve ordered them by highest increase):

  • 079/128 Charizard +9
  • 082/128 Pichu +7
  • 011/029 Charmeleon +5
  • 005/029 Chikorita +4
  • 010/029 Charmander +4
  • 013/029 Cyndaquil +4
  • 028/128 Clefairy +4
  • 024/029 Feraligatr +3
  • 016/128 Pikachu +3
  • 022/029 Totodile +2
  • 023/029 Croconaw +2
  • 029/128 Meowth +2
  • 002/029 Bulbasaur +1
  • 009/029 Charmander 0

Charizard is the most valuable Pokémon (it makes sense to put those up for sale if you’re going to be selling cards) and I collect Pichu and actively search for new Pichu listings on a daily basis. I think this is a very good indicator of potential confirmation bias, especially when you consider that almost all of the cards I’ve linked to in this thread are cards which are either being sold alongside a Pichu or are from sellers which are also selling a Pichu at the same time.

What great cards

Oh, very nice!

I just lost an auction for this played version of Pikachu below that ended at 2.8k USD (Buyee is limited to 300,000 JpYen and Noppin is still offline, otherwise I would have gone slightly higher :sob: ), so I can’t even imagine what your PSA-10 would be worth. I will offer you 3.5k USD for it right here and now.

@blackbelt172 woah very nice, thank you for sharing!
Are those cards which have been shared here before prior to grading or do I need to add both of those to my counts list?

Also you had me excited that the Pichu may have been my copy which I sent to Ludkins UK in May last year. I still have my fingers very much crossed that that will be a 10 as well, but we shall see.

I would believe these cards are from pictures from what is already posted so there isn’t a increase count.
