I’m getting my complete set and the blastoise, alakazam, mewtwo, look to be definite 10s… If blastoise comes up, I will find a way to bid… I’ll get rid of something and get it later. But for now my faith is going into this set. I feel pretty safe now in accomplishing the new goals.
I would pay 300usd for that short pack, just not right now… I do need to know and I’m gonna unleash it to the world on my channel. I hope its still there in a few months time…

Mmmm 4k… Too bad yahoo Japan auctions photos of the pokemoon cards are in a resolution of 1by 1… I mean the China phones are unbelievable now 4k camera is in budget phones… 1080p camera with a good sensor is in every single piece of it for 30usd over there… I just can’t understand… Probably when uploading the photos you don’t get to upload the full quality of the photo and they fuck the file up on your ass so they can run cheap ass storage on there servers ffs. Less maintenance. That and the way they take the photo is so shocking… On like every listing I see, they would sell there stuff a lot faster if they put some effort into it.
I will say that it’s a bit frustrating and also a little bit worrisome about how you’re going about this.
I’ll put it like this. I guess it’s frustrating for someone like me who has over 100k USD in student loans for a full time Master’s program. I work in retail that pays 11 an hour and also work at an unpaid internship. I also live in my apartment that I pay myself and was raised in a family that grew up poor.
It’s frustrating because I wish I could throw caution at the wind and take out a loan just to purchase the SNAP card of Gyarados for a price I know Jimmy on ebay is willing to sell to me for. I could do it. I could buy that card TODAY with the money I’ve saved. But I don’t feel financially stable to do so to justify throwing money that could essentially purchase a used car. It seems irresponsible.
And on the other hand, I’m worried for you. You say it’s an addiction and as much as you seem to have a plan, I’m worried you’re headed towards a financial crisis that you won’t break out of. I’m worried you’re making bad choices early just to have the satisfaction of completing that rush. Sure, it would be a great collection and success. But then what? I know it probably seems we’re all ragging on you but while some of it comes from frustration, I think most of it comes from worry.
We don’t want to see you in a ditch, man. That’s all.

Yeah I 100% agree with what your saying, and I hate the debt crisis for students and I am part of a movement here in AUS, and we really hate the shit out of the current Education system. All being said I have had Bad addiction in the past, but I’m much happier with my new addiction which is Pokemon. I will say that Pokémon keeps me going, and it is sort of saved me xD … But it isn’t just pokemon that saved me alone… Its something I have really latched on to for those dopamine flares xD

Yeah and what GARY SAID MAn… It is a honor to know a dude who works hard through the thingz… I hope you can get a great job with your degree and stuff man, it should be a priority for people who study and work so hard on these things. I really love my job it pays about 25AUD and Making about 500AUD a week. I pay 500AUD rent… SO I pay all the rent for the house and mumsie pays for the foodingtons, bills and shit. She cleans also, and we do jobs together too… Team work bruh! My sister has just finished her 6th year in psychology at uni, so yeah… AND She finding it extremely difficult to get a job at all, and so I really hate things… I think its extremely unfair for the amount of work you guys are doing… I have seen it, it is an insane amount and I would probably break under stress and my brain would splaticate and I’d end up in asylum for round 2. She studied very very hard and puts alot of hours into it with average stuff of 90 on everything or some shit. Mostly over 90, and She is like me with this stuff were it doesnt come easy to think and concentrate/summerise, but she really mastered that stuff by now and I think if anything uni really trains that memory and IQ hardcore. I spend alot of time reading lots of stuff my self, but at my own pace. I am really wanting to get back to learning some stuff I’m pationate about, but Its really difficult for me ATM because I’m going through rough patch.

It’s my opinion that Pokemon should never put you in a compromising position financially. When I first got back into the hobby, I admittedly was terrible at managing my money. I had a lot saved up from working part time during high school, so I basically just bought whatever the hell I wanted. Eventually that money ran out and I was kinda screwed. It took me a long time to focus on collection goals, and begin to go after what I really wanted. All that being said, Pokemon was a very welcome distraction from a not-so-easy time in my life.
If Pokemon is helping you to maintain your sanity (as it does for me and I’m sure for many of us) then the money situation should be allowed to be a little flexible. Again, it shouldn’t be taking up all your income, but it’s definitely okay to splurge now and then. So, I suppose I can see both sides of the discussion here.
My opinion on the no rarities: Everyone seems to be taking one of two positions, e.g. these will continue to show up and prices will tank, or there will be a limited number and we should all get them now. I think it’s pretty clear we have a no rarity bubble. Prices are high, people are realizing it. There will be more no rarities that hit the market, that’s a fact. However, whether these cards will consistently show up beyond the initial bubble remains to be seen. Keep in mind these cards are so rare and so old we don’t even know where they come from. They’re literally the first Pokemon cards ever printed. We really won’t know until the future. It’s a gamble to buy these cards now, and with all gambles, it may or may not pay off.

@jameskray, I can definitely see that. I overpayed a little for my New Year Present card in the condition that it’s in, but I was willing to for the sake of obtaining the card itself. I appreciate seeing that side of wanting to finish something you’ve started.
And thank you, Gary. I think it comes from a life of many early and some tragic influences. 
@pokemonsyndicate, kind of going on what Ethan also said, I appreciate you being so openly honest and such about all of that, and it does lessen the worry of mine to know that you take so many other responsibilities and are able to balance them out. I may not know your detailed past, but you have mentioned on a few occasions that you’ve been through some seriously rough times. If this is your ability to translate into a better you and a better life, then I’m happy for you. I just will continue to mention that caution and try to have a conversation WITH you. And I’m glad this community you’ve connected with makes you feel comfortable doing all of this and being yourself. Even in the two years that I’ve been a part of it, I’ve already seen it grow into something more beneficial to the community as a whole. More communication is happening out in the open, more personal notes are being touched upon. All of that.
Also, I want that PSA 10 No Rarity Gyarados you tease!! It’s so pretty. ; - ;

I’m going to be a lord hoarder of the mint 9s that show up, so maybe I can grab you at mint 9 one day xD. I can’t make promises though, because someone might by them before Me lol. I would really like to see that in your collection.
Also I agree with four star man, these cards are so dam rare and the first printed so to predict the exact marketness of them is a touchy wouchy situation and a gamble to throw the money thinking it will never shoe up again. With all thoughts considered, that didn’t stop me with that starter venusaur. I am going to be extremely happy when it arrives in the mail… Please hope nothing goes wrong.
I have to say four star tamed me out of it at the start of the auction, but holding those feels back and concentrating/thinking about it for those 7 days had to be the most torturous 7 days of my life.
I actually JUST noticed that the holo overlaps the evolution box on NR’s. That is seriously bothering me. Plus they are all off-centered?! Try not to stress over these cards so much breh, they’re not all that.
Rare Japanese cards are my favourite… This is like the old school ex challenge I started… But way harder, and that’s saying something. The challenge and hunt is so thrilling.
Also yeah, pokemonpacifix said the venusaur is awesome, but the Gyarados is off centered and people didn’t pay for it like the mewtwos probably for that alone. I’m happy with it though I think as long as its minty i m cool.
He also said the hitmonchan was off centered too. I probably should have picked the hitmonchan up though because the one in the set I’m getting is one of 3 holos in the set that has a tiny bit of whitening on the back and is off centered like crazy 
its like a ritual for me getting my cards in the mail and then sending them to blastoiserules and then the best part… THE VIDEO OF REVEALING THE GRADES!!!

Mine have no whitening on the holos accept 3 though Im paying alot more xD:

However, as a response to the ‘short booster box’ claim that it contains No Rarity is sketchy at best, just like the short packs containing No Rarity is sketchy at best. There is no solid proof whatsoever that they contain No Rarity cards, whilst there is cause to speculate on it there are equally as many claims denying they contain the No Rarity cards as well.
It’s going to be practically impossible to get someone to shell out even 1/5th of that eBay asking price based purely on hearsay and speculation.

I know someone that has opened a “short” booster box, and they confirmed that no-rarity cards were NOT inside.
This doesn’t mean that they aren’t potentially inside them, but it proves they are NOT inside all “short” boxes.
Myth, busted.

I don’t suppose the person would consider posting here themselves? I still think it’s early decks tbh, even the gym heroes decks have no rarity symbols and aren’t the first jp base decks random? Would make sense for them to be from those in my head.
