For a while now I’ve been looking for these beauties in PSA. They surface often and really aren’t that uncommon in PSA 9 and PSA 10. Recentely I’ve seen many coming up with the most recent 4XXXXXXX number. What I am after the very very early PSA ones, the 0XXXXXXXX and 1XXXXXXX.
I remember quiet vaguely those were done in some promotional deal between Pokemon, PSA and if I remember correctly a charity. But my memory seems to be really bad lately and I might am totally mixing up things now, so I wanna have my facts straight before I pull the trigger and finally make the shot to buy them.
Hope you guys can enlighten me.
I just sold the big 3 to a member here. They were surprised by the 20 years old PSA cases. Lol
The story is some people got a deal with Media Factory and decided to mass grade them and sell on a shopping channel. It even came with a letter I saw on ebay before. Does anyone have one? I think it valued the Zard at $500.
Tbh they’re gorgeous cards and if they had just sold the cards raw back then they would probably have good value today.
Our most famous member, Gary from Pawn Stars aka @garyis2000 made a tough investment way back when that luckily worked out quite well. He procured thousands of these CD promos and had them graded in what must have been one of the most insane submissions to have ever passed through at PSA. Graded Pokémon cards were in their infancy so it all came down to a man with a plan (no canal yet, right?). Not sure how many of those graded 9s or 10s, but suffice to say it’s a huge amount.
That’s why I pointed out, my memory really bad on this. I remember reading about the shopping channel maybe I connected that to something and thought it was charity related
Now I just wonder how many have been recased and or regraded. I am perfectly fine with snatching a few old case, old number 9’s. Since they go for roughly same price as fresh graded 9’s in the new cases with the 4x numbers.
Yeah, it wasn’t for charity lol. Honestly, it was quite a gamble initially but worked out well.
