Any thoughts on the price reaching $11k? I believe that’s more than modern Pikachu trophies which have 6 copies in existence. It’s even competing with 20+ year old Japanese cards - Trophy Kangaskhan, Tropical Wind, etc. Maybe we’ll pass the Illustrator lol.

I am more excited about what the card/auction represents. People are starving for something rare, challenging and unique; this currently fits the bill.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a graded english pika earned a comparable price in auction. We haven’t seen a graded copy sell organically from an actual business for years. Hell any rare prize card in auction. Similar to the 9th lucky stadium at pwcc. Even with it being a ā€œweak gradeā€, which doesn’t really matter for something of that rarity, it sold for a comparable price.

@smpratte I agree with your excitement about what the card represents.

However, how rare is this card? What’s to stop collectorscache from dumping another one in the near future? $11k+ is an alluring sale price that will catch the attention of those who own it. They already shocked us by dumping tons of art academy cards. It’s strange how collectorscache all of a sudden dumps a bunch of super rare cards.

If I were to spend this amount of money on a modern Pikachu trophy, at least I know there are only 6 in existence. Lucky stadium is a card with almost 20 years of history, I don’t think it makes a good comparison. My best comparison is modern Pikachu trophies. This card has more copies and less appealing art (in my opinion), but is going to sell for way more.

I think this card will be like the Pikachu Wagon one…people see the price it goes for and now multiple copies are going to pop up…I wonder how many truly exist if they were given out to employees etc - I love a good Pokemon mystery

I’m excited to see the video that Scott makes once this auction concludes. I love that this card showed up out of no where.

Haha ā€œHandmade with authentic Pokemon card back.ā€

I like how the seller watermarked the photo so we know they are the legitimate owner of this fake card :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Well I mean, it would be a real shame if someone took the image and started selling the item without permission of this seller right ? ? ?

Wow, these idiots already…and people are bidding on it…

All 3 photos are of different copies, they couldn’t even get the centering right.

A wild PSA 10 appears: www.psacard.com/pop/tcg-cards/2017/pokemon-sm-black-star-promo/142125.
I wonder how this will affect the value of the card now that there are 2 of them, and now that the original sale is not the best condition which exists.

That’s some expensive nightmare fuel.

Has it appeared for sale? If it doesnt I’d say it had little effect as the supply to the market remains the same, 0

I just hope maxmoefoe didn’t buy that PSA 9 thinking it was a 1/1. I wouldn’t be surprised if cc had another copy.
