I keep looking at my Rayquaza and I have accepted that it’s going too stay in its grade of PSA 9 as I thought it may have the potential of getting a BGS 9.5 or CGC 10 BUT I can’t be sure it would get one of the up grades as I don’t have a clue if this is a strong 9 , a weak 9 or well just a standard 9 that should stay a 9.
I would like your opinions if it’s one of the following and if it’s a weak 9 from your perspective hey it is what it is I’m just happy too own this card but would still love too read your opinions on how weak or strong this Rayquaza is !

It’s really not possible for us to give you feedback because we would have to see the surface of the card with a bright LED from multiple angles. But from what I can see, it’s an average 9. You should be happy with it.
It’s got ( if you look super super close in only a particular light ) a small line in the holo , a white spec on the top left back of card, and lastly a white spec back of card on the top as you will be able too see in the pics. Not sure if that puts it down too a weak 9 but I have seen other 9’s far worse
there’s always a chance, but i just feel like the risk vs reward isn’t there.
there’s the cost of regrading the card, the risk of damaging it when re-casing, the possibility of losing it during shipment, and it could still grade down for whatever reason.
(and this is subjective, i don’t want to start an argument, but i feel like PSA has more scrutiny for higher value cards.)
I’m thinking too just leave it in the 9 grade with psa , maybe it has the potential for a bgs 9.5 BUT I’m not going too risk cracking it or damaging it with that whole process lol
I took a led light too my card and there is a faint scratch or print line in the middle of the holo kind of hard too tell unless it’s with an led light but other than the white specs on the back top left and middle back of card I think that’s it
I think if I did crack this and re sent it in for psa grading it may get the 9 again no way a 10 lol what do you think?
I wouldn’t say weak at all, looks like a solid 9 to me. Most white back/normal cards have holo issues more easily it seems on average. So my guess there must be a hard to see surface flaw somewhere (minor print line/scratch). I have a few PSA 9s like this that are completely flawless in terms of the whitening and centering but have very hard to see holo flaws that prevented them from being PSA 10.
It’d probably be a 9.5+ from another grader would be my guess and depending on the surface it’d be like a 9 or 9.5 surface rating (assuming it is a surface issue). If you could get it into a new CGC 10 holder I think it’d look great in that myself.
Yeah I was looking at the holo with an LED and near the middle of the holo there’s a super faint line or small scratch which makes sense as too why it’s the grade it is from PSA , if CGC took this card and gave it a 10 I would be so excited! Although … Im not sure many would think that would be a good idea
If you don’t plan to re-sell it, it’s probably not worth trying to re-grade it. Chances are it could upgrade, but it also carries some risk to crack it out and send it to CGC. Then after all this, you still need to make the sale. I do think it would sell easily, but it just depends on your risk appetite. If you don’t plan to re-sell it, then I would just leave it as a PSA 9.
