Is there a "Pokémon stock"?

My question is pretty simple: Is there a Pokémon stock where I can invest some money?

I have not done ANY research for this question mainly because I value E4 and everyones input high af. I was just thinking that since I am already putting my money into these cards, maybe there is a stock or something else I can invest in? Mainly for fun. I do not have 10k$ to dump.

It all comes under nintendo so i would guess that may be your answer. I dont think tpci has a stock seperate from that but im not 100% sure.

That would be the Nintendo stock (NTDOY).

Buy shares of Charizard 1st editions. Share prices range among 10 different levels.
Level 10 Gem Mint starts between 35-40k, but Level 5-9 are 1.2k to 4k. Anything lower is below 1k.

But on a real note woolsluk is on point. There is a Nintendo stock; however,I dont think there is a Game Freak or Creatures stock exist.

It’s not Nintendo but Pokémon related Collectors Universe (CLCT) is pretty low right now and with some expansions could see some growth soon. It’s disappointed recently but don’t be discouraged by that.

If you are speculating on the future growth of pokemon then buy some graded cards.

I’d be careful with this, as CLCT largest revenue comes from grading coins, which is not doing so hot right now. Card grading is roughly 1/3 of their revenue and this is including all TCGs. I think last numbers I heard is that only 20% of the TCGs they grade is Pokemon, so CLCT’s revenue from grading Pokemon cards is 1/15. If coin grading tanks even more, the stock price will go boom.

What makes you believe PCGS isn’t doing so well right now?

They’re the “gold-standard” within the coin-market - followed closely by NGC.

For those not familiar, PCGS is the Coin-Grading within Collector’s Universe.

Where did you read that coin grading is down?

Does PSA the company have stock available?

Psa’s parent company is the above mentioned Collectors Universe.

HIGHLY DOUBT this is true…

I can only speak for U.S. Coins / U.S. Coin Market. However, the overall market is flourishing - with new “record-breaking” prices being a constant trend within Auction Houses. And, on the fore-front of this market is graded coins - specifically PCGS and NGC. PCGS and NGC are the two largest, and arguably the two most recognized / respected grading companies within the market.

I cannot see how either of these companies could experience a decline when it’s their name / reputation on pieces constantly and consistently selling in the six / seven-figure price-range!

I suggest reading the 2017 collector’s universe annual report.

It has a lot of information relevant to this thread.

I’ve been a shareholder for nearly 20 years. You won’t get an accurate picture anyway by viewing a single years activity.

from their last filing:

Chap@ You can’t compare 2017 quarters with any other year. We achieved historical revenue highs. Yes, the three month period you chose was higher but reading a trend into it is presumptuous.
Picking it even more apart by singling out coins can be misleading too. Because of organizational circumstances (ie: specials, moving, employee difficulties, major customer submissions etc) individual departments can be affected and in turn, revenue fluctuates. There wasn’t much in modern coin releases this year. When the new coins come out next year the numbers will go back up.
Can 2017 be beat? Sure hope so cause those dividends never hurt;)

yeah you’re right Gary, coin grading is down YOY, but still up compared to 2016.
I hope the company does well, since I also hold stocks from them ^^

Sorry for my late reply on my own thread. Currently in an internship which is a timestealer. On the other hand I wanna thank you all for responding! I am trying to read up on stocks, stockexchange and ivesting in general+++. To make this interest last, i want to link it together with my passion for these glorious Pokémon cardz  I will definitely check out everything you masterbrainz have mentioned. Any other parts of the hobby or bussinesses I should read up on that can grow along with growth in the hobby etc? (Hope you can understand what I mean, don’t know the exact words to use here)
