Is eBay safe to buy pokemon cards from?

Ican I trust eBay?

I’d say it depends on the seller. I only buy from sellers with super good reviews. But it’s always good to double check the description and the pictures and ask any questions you have before you buy.

But that being said the eBay customer service is very good. If there are troubles with the item not being as described or fake eBay always refunded me.

Despite many new platforms, marketplaces, FB groups and so on, eBay is still the main resource for many Pokemon cards.

Just look at the seller’s profile and if they have a bunch of reviews and good feedback then go for it. Personally I feel it is better than buying cards from strangers off of facebook marketplace

I buy probably over half of my cards from eBay. Things to look out for:

  1. Feedback - If they have zero feedback, I’m not buying. Sorry new users!

  2. Pictures - Cards should match the description/title, certs should be able to be seen and matched online to the card, etc. When in doubt as to authenticity, save yourself the headache and don’t buy it.

  3. Location - I hesitate to buy things from various locations (Italy comes to mind…sorry Italians) as well as far distances. The more you can minimize shipping and customs transfers, the better.

  4. Price - If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. This day in age even someone cleaning out grandma’s basement and completely removed from the hobby can figure out roughly how much their Charizard or Pikachu is worth.

You’re missing out on the very best prices, interactions, stories and freebies! With some common sense/Pokemon knowledge these types of things are fine.

I will buy 1st Ed base holos from (0) Chad forever!

Don’t trust the feedback number either.

Unfortunately I personally never used Facebook marketplace so I can’t tell from my own experience.

Facebook is an absolute shit show most of the time. Ebay youre fully covered for basically any issue so it is probably one of the safest options there is. Do your due dilligence and you will be completely fine.

There are legitimate sellers on FB Marketplace but you will find the grimiest of grimers there looking to scam, lowball, ghost and verbally berate you. It is an unregulated wasteland.

Ebay ain’t perfect either but you can at least have a normal business transaction there…sometimes. it’s definitely safer to buy from there as long as you do your due diligence such as looking at seller feedback, reading reviews and inspecting the item thoroughly that you are interested in purchasing.

i pulled 2 good card the two cards together are about $80

eBay is pretty nice

Ooh? Which cards?

For future reference, you’re probably better off buying sealed JP booster boxes because you’re guaranteed hits per box :slightly_smiling_face:

what box would you recommend?
