(Sorry for bumping this) Have we stopped to consider thats its not a prototype fossil, and rather a prototype of the physical GB cards? we know physical copies, while not distributed, exist. I just checked my notes, and the GB game was released for fossil, so if its a prototype version of the physical gb cards, there is a possibility that the first prototypes had fossil, instead of the gb logo. (I read aton of this thread but i think i missed smth thats why this might have alr been covered)
Cheers!
Edit: Im stupid, it was one of the first things covered, sorry for bumping this for no reason.
Offered is a stunning 1999 Pokémon Japanese Fossil Legendary Birds printing plate sheet featuring Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres cards. The designs from these cards were later used for the Japanese Fossil Test Issue cards and the Tropical Mega Battle Regional Kamex Mega Battle Challenge Road collectibles. A stunning, elusive piece of Pokémon history. The item displays a lightly circulated manner of appearance.
This maybe could be the same unpeeled sheet. The shop owner showed me a picture and explained to me that he got them unpeeled and decided to peel them.
I have to correct myself.
This must have been a different unpeeled sheet because he bought it at the beginning of the year from a collector friend in Tokyo.
I did not see that the insta picture was form the US.
Oh as additional information. The Shop owner also told me that the original collector from Tokyo, he bought it from, bought the birds from an online auction.
So a few have been auctioned online already.
Makes you wonder how these came into circulation. There’s already 2 members here who got these cards randomly. I’ve heard of a set in Japan selling for 9m yen recently as well. I’d be careful about splurging on these as there could be a ton more out there.
