If you had to work for a Gym Leader who would it be?

Congratulations, you’ve collected every badge and became a Pokemon Champion! You spent many years biking, surfing, and flying across all the regions. But, even in the wonderful world of Pokémon, the bills start piling up.

Now that you’re an adult, you decide to settle down for the steady life of a professional in one of the Pokemon Gyms and you’ve sampled quite a few.

So, which Gym Leader are you sending your resume to and what type of job are you hoping to land?

Why have one job when you can have two?

Interesting question - I suppose we would have to consider the location of the gym and the Pokemon region in addition to the work responsibilities.

I would really love to live in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Alola:

  • In Kanto, working with grass Pokemon to develop new perfumes under Erika sounds really enjoyable.

  • In Johto and Hoenn, I could work for Falkner or Winona to develop an aviary and rehabilitation program for flying Pokemon.

  • In Alola, I would help Kiawe care for Wela Volcano Park with his Alolan Marowak as a guest/park services employee, or I could work as a volcanologist for Wela Volcano.

Ecruteak city is very historically rich, being the home of Ho-oh and the legendary dogs. I love the ghost type, and morty is very cool and cares about his home

shows her care for Olivine city, taking care of Amphy shows her dedication to the welfare of pokemon, and she is loved by pokemon in return. She is gentle, in contrast to her very difficult gym fight, showing her humility in her own skills.

She needs help. That is what it comes down to. She is earnest, but lacks confidence and gets flustered quite easily. But when she locks in, her skills are unmatched! She wears her heart on her sleeve, thats for sure, and so it would be a very down to earth experience, and almost certainly a job that would be rewarding after a long day in the soothing natural hot springs!

You can’t tell me it wouldn’t be cool to work in a gym run by an actual rock band!

The most clever and ingenious gym leader. He had it rough when Cinnabar Island exploded, but he toughed it out, and rebuilt the gym inside the remains of the volcano which took out the Island. It takes serious dedication to do that, and will need help. There is a lot of wisdom to be gained from Blaine out of any other gym leader.

Winona would tell me, as we’re having our breakfast together, about her Johtonian colleague Falkner, how badly he sucks and how Lance is considering revoking his Gym license as a result. Trainers are walking all over him and his level 9 Pidgeotto, it’s not a good look. As the official inspector of Champions, she knows it is within my power to influence that process. I imagine I would work with him part time in a mentoring capacity, to get his skills up to par and then smooth things over with Lance if necessary. I’ll also be spending some time in Dark Cave, as Winona said she would love a Dunsparce to help with the gardening.
