Suppose you became famous overnight. Suddenly, many Pokemon collectors want you to sign their cards.
What card would you love signing the most? Which card do you most identify with?
I think this is a really tough question. Boiling down our personalities and preferences to a single card is an impossible task.
It seems like a less daunting task when thinking of others. For example, I might expect @Will to sign a Fusion Strike Alt Art Celebi, @smpratte to sign a Shadowless Base Blastoise, @pfm to sign a Masterâs Scroll, @swolepoke to sign a McDonaldâs Larvitar promo, or @c0ll3ct0r to sign a Regice for me. Of course, this is my schema of everyoneâs personality and how I believe they could best be represented by a card to sign.
What card would you choose to represent yourself? Which card would you choose for me or for others? Feel free to tag them!
Its a difficult question to answer, luckily ive put lots of time and consideration into it beforehand just in case it was asked.
Iâd want a card that represents me and my goals but also done in a way that represents myself. Ive experimented with this for the signature exchanges and I think my original idea for the first exchange, which was ruined by trollandtoad changing their bulk program which raised costs on the cards from 50cents to $2/card, was the closest Id get to the card Id love signing the most. The âQuestions?â Informational card that had customer service contact information and came with international decks hits the correct sweet spot of unique, absurd, and deck related for me to probably love signing it every time it comes up. Id probably also attach some kind of mysterious token to it in hopes someone would contact wotc for answers about them.
Regice honestly sounds like a fantastic idea, perhaps even the best idea. Iâd want to sign an expensive card, and my signature would be very limited. I donât want to see the internet flooded with c0ll3ct0r-signed Sandstorm Trapinches. As far as having a preference I think Regice would serve as an excellent canvas, like other gold stars.
The only other card circulating in my mind right now is Emerald Dusclops. The darkness would compliment the signature. Maybe I should sign those two exclusively. Or, perhaps I should give people the chance to have the whole trio, but with a twist. Weâll do Registeel 99/101 and Regirock 99/106 because I canât be seen signing those gold stars.
I would feel bad if it was anything to rare or expensive as if people desired my auto I would fear people handing me an expensive card to sign then reselling it online so I would pick a base set shadowless squirtle as I believe that the signature would stand out and the shading of the squirtle is probably my all time favorite (also this card holds some special memories for me)
